Went as far as I could alone and in a stock Tacoma off-road. Would of kept going if I had a buddy Incase it got to hairy or 33in tires. (Will get pinstripes) Easy at the start but gets tougher as you go on. Subaru’s would be minimal Easy with 4x4 and high clearance Smaller 4x4s like jeeps and Tacoma’s are perfect for the narrow paths

This is not a hiking trail it’s a scenic drive

Good trail to take for a semicolon view, be real good in fall/winter with no leaves. Gravel road was in great condition, saw a few smaller cars on it.

This is a very pretty drive. Great if you just want out for a while.

Just a road, nothing special at all

Why are driving routes on here?

Great drive through the Ozarks. Leads to a lot of camping and hiking opportunities. Hercules Glades wilderness is one area on the road midway. Primitive camping at the fire tower trailhead.

This scenic drive has a couple of scenic overlooks toward the beginning of the drive that would be great for picture taking during the fall. That said, probably the most interesting part of the drive was the very end where a steep hill leads to a place called Twin Bridges, which, coincidentally enough, is located between two bridges. Seeing the bridge over the North Fork River was worth the drive.

We did not realize upon making the drive to Ava that this is a scenic drive and not actually a hiking trail like we thought. Oops! It might be good for the Glade Top Run held every year or even biking, but we should've done some research first. It was a pretty drive.

New road surface makes traveling this scenic drive a little easier on the unpaved section. Plenty of side trails to walk or 4wheel. And when you get to highway turn toward Eagle Rock and check out the New Mexican restaurant across the bridge and close to Dollar General. Not a drive for low to the ground vehicles or cars with "city tires" this is a rough riding road and no facilities. A few really nice openings to view the Ozark mountains. One with old picnic tables and a place to pull off and rest from bouncing down the road. It's s fun drive always something to see and leaves are starting to change colors.

nice drive

Pleasant drive through Ozark hill country. Many recreational opportunities along the way. hiking, fishing, camping, etc. Roaring River State park is a premier trout fishing park.

Nice area, limestone bluffs, quaint tourist cottages. A couple of good cafes in Cassville.

We took a nice scenic drive down the Gladetop Trail, stopping at multiple overlooks to enjoy the splendid views.

We did the Devil's Kitchen trail and it was definitely a good workout and a great place to take photos. The park was far larger than I had anticipated and we were fortunate the welcome center was open and had maps, since neither the app or Google Maps were helpful. After spending 20 minutes analyzing the map and still doing some backtracking we finally found Devil's Kitchen (not the trail we were originally set to hike but I was tired of driving in circles). It's really beautiful down there and I'll definitely be going back. There were cabins and camp sites everywhere which would be a great option to make a weekend out of it.

Great trail enjoy the great scenery can definitely give you a workout

enjoyed a hike by the creek

The park was amazing! Very impressed! The app however is horrible taking you directly to downtown Cassville and not Roaring river if you click "map".

Flat, figure 8 path. Good for running & good for Dogs. Frisbee course available too. Tends to flood during high water.

Had a great time, trails are dry, Spring is here!!!!

One of my favorite places to "get away from it all" and replenish!! Great trails, great camping!

nice views

Nice drive.

followed directions given and just ended up in cabool. didn't no where to go from there. need better directions.

Can't add much more to Jen York's great review other than be sure to stop and visit the Nature Center. Lot's of interesting wildlife exhibits here and an exhibit including things found down inside the underwater cave. I found trail guides here to the Park's hiking trials. I also saw a curious spinning vortex in the water near the awesome waterfall and where the underwater cave starts.

The drive route is Missouri Highway 59. The features of this scenic drive include the Elk River, Indian Creek Roadside Park, Mt. Shira Stream Access, Noel and impressive overhanging bluffs. The Mt. Shira Stream Access is the only public access along this route that offers a nice close-up view of the Elk River. During the Spring and after a heavy rainfall, look for water cascading off the limestone bluffs.
