Surprisingly scenic trail, with low traffic on this cold Saturday. Was very muddy after a lot for rain, but still pleasant. Sign at the trail head says 5 miles, but ai clocked right at 4 miles. Saw no one else on the trail the whole time, and was very quiet and serene. Nice getaway close to the city!

Worth it to see the falls. The trail is very rocky and was completely flooded when we went. Luckily we had waterproof hiking boots because it was basically like walking in a shallow creek the whole way. But of course this meant that the falls were amazing! We did the whole loop in less than 2 hours. It’s a nice bonus that the highest point in MO is right on the way!

I am by no means an expert but I feel that this trail is very good for beginners the trail seems clearly marked for the most part it’s a very simple loop trail. I am kind of excited because this was the first trail that I have taking my one-year-old puppy on to start hiking with him and he did very well. There is many picture perfect sandstone waterfalls along the trail, so make sure to bring your camera and there is many beautiful spots along. the way to stop and have lunch.

The trail was clearly mapped out, nice overlooks, but bring waterproof shoes because you have to cross a small stream twice. Took us 56 minutes to complete. Would recommend.

I drove from Springfield not realizing how many times this crossed the stream. We received quite a bit of rain this week. I was prepared for a bit of water and mud but this much was dangerous. I was able to take it about 1 mile before we had to turn back. Pretty bluffs along the way.

We love this trail so much! Still gets a 5 star but today it was very flooded. It rained a ton last night so there was muddy spots and in the lower sections the entire trail was covered in water, basically a creek. The creek you have to cross was really flowing rapidly, we were able to cross in one area. It was beautiful tho. The water rushing everywhere was so peaceful sounding. Little waterfalls all over. The beautiful moss covered rocks and trees. Love it!

This is an easy trail that feels like wilderness even though it’s right in the city. It was lovely, even in winter. We did this loop and then most every trail in the whole park in just one morning.

Loved this trail during the summer so thought I’d come back. Due to the recent rain it’s VERY muddy along the river and the end is washed out if you’re trying to do a counter-clockwise loop.

Hiked this trail with three kids. 7,6,5. The low temps froze the mud, so it wasn’t too slippery, but once the temperature rose, it got slick! We had one time where the green arrow pointed in two opposite directions and luckily we chose left/downhill so we were able to see the “cave” with a spring coming out of it. I’m still not sure where the other trail would have led us, I never saw a fork after that, as I was expecting the other green path to tie back into the trail we took. On that last section, before the cave the bridge was closed, so we had to cross the creek on foot. There was a lot of up and down and crossing over creeks and springs. Downed trees to climb across for the kids and a lot of moss to give a magical feel. Overall, it was a fun hike!

Beautiful trail. We were even to see a clydesdale and a pony, which I had no idea were at that park! The trail outlines on the app was a little weird. But it's a city park no need to follow the trail. You can go wherever which way you want without getting lost. I grew up near this park and love it still!

This area used to be the Girl Scout camp I went to when I was younger. I never knew how large it actually was. We went in the dead of winter so everything was dead and we could see the building beyond the tree line. It is a simple walk but be aware it is steep. The path is small pebbles and some did was away at points. This would be a good walk for dogs as well. It is great to have an easy hike on the highway 30 side of Jefferson County.
