Loved this trail during the summer so thought I’d come back. Due to the recent rain it’s VERY muddy along the river and the end is washed out if you’re trying to do a counter-clockwise loop.

Hiked this trail with three kids. 7,6,5. The low temps froze the mud, so it wasn’t too slippery, but once the temperature rose, it got slick! We had one time where the green arrow pointed in two opposite directions and luckily we chose left/downhill so we were able to see the “cave” with a spring coming out of it. I’m still not sure where the other trail would have led us, I never saw a fork after that, as I was expecting the other green path to tie back into the trail we took. On that last section, before the cave the bridge was closed, so we had to cross the creek on foot. There was a lot of up and down and crossing over creeks and springs. Downed trees to climb across for the kids and a lot of moss to give a magical feel. Overall, it was a fun hike!

This area used to be the Girl Scout camp I went to when I was younger. I never knew how large it actually was. We went in the dead of winter so everything was dead and we could see the building beyond the tree line. It is a simple walk but be aware it is steep. The path is small pebbles and some did was away at points. This would be a good walk for dogs as well. It is great to have an easy hike on the highway 30 side of Jefferson County.

Didn't finish because the little dog got tired. had to cut through. But as always beautiful trail

Nice trail. Well established and blazed. Couple creek crossings, some nice views from bluffs, and a cave. Even though it’s near Columbia, the only civilization I experienced was right at the trail head near 163. I found entire trail head is included feel to it. The other trailheads are well hidden off gravel roads right by the trail. I recommend this trail.

Not a bad hike with a little tiny bit of elevation for Missouri. Pretty muddy but to be expected with the warm weather and all the snow melting. Crossed a few little creeks, which may even be dry in the warmer months. Not a bad little quick hike.

We went with our hiking group. 7 adults 17 children. Took 1 hour and 15mins. It has been rainy but the trail was not too muddy. Pretty rocky and some parts were slippery. We had a great time.

Creek right next to trail most of time

Quick little hike. Very muddy. I suggest coming when the ground is very dry or very frozen.

Decent trail. Not much to see, but we got lucky and saw some deer out and about as the sun was coming up. Heard trains come through a few times and several squirrels were also waking up near by. A little noisy, but we didn’t mind.

I love this trail, mainly after heavy rains as there are a few waterfalls/cascades to see. I have been many times and it's never been busy. With that said, it's the perfect way to get away from the busyness of Branson. I will say that the trail doesn't really have any vista views, but don't let that discourage you from giving it a try.

loved it today

Absolutely gorgeous! I really enjoyed the change in scenery from the dense forest, then being up on the clearing on the hill, back down into the forest, then getting to see the falls. There wasn't a lot of water running when we went last week but I'm sure after some rain it'll be flowing incredibly. A word of caution though: the trail was a bit hard to follow in spots so make sure you have GPS or something to get you back on track if you stray.

A little slippery after the rain & snow this weekend. But a beautiful day to be out there.

Great day to hike this trail. Streams and mini waterfalls were flowing nicely. Also the icicles hanging from the bluffs were pretty cool. Trail was in good shape but a bit slippery.

Overall a relatively nice trail. Not terribly scenic, and quite easy in dry conditions, as most of the trail is packed gravel and plenty wide. Hiked it today after our recent rain and snowfall and it was absolutely gorgeous! Bring good waterproof boots, as there are several stream crossings that were quite deep today, which is to be expected after getting several inches of rain in the last couple days. Only rated 4 stars due to some highway noise detracting from the experience a little, but this is expected due to its location.

All I can say is wow...this trail is a gem. You definitely need supportive shoes. We went after snow and rain so the trail was slick, wet and muddy. The falls were roaring and what amazing sight!
