Great hike along the bluffs overlooking the creek. After heavy rains the creek was loud and the path submerged at parts. Hard to ask for a more picturesque hike along the creek. Not much elevation on the creek side but watch for the loose rocks. Crossing the creek was interesting due to the rains a few days earlier. Knee deep and cold but no problem. Bluff side has several picturesque overlooks. The end of the trail doesn’t match the current AllTrails route. Definitely follow the actual trail.

Creek right next to trail most of time

Absolutely gorgeous! I really enjoyed the change in scenery from the dense forest, then being up on the clearing on the hill, back down into the forest, then getting to see the falls. There wasn't a lot of water running when we went last week but I'm sure after some rain it'll be flowing incredibly. A word of caution though: the trail was a bit hard to follow in spots so make sure you have GPS or something to get you back on track if you stray.

A little slippery after the rain & snow this weekend. But a beautiful day to be out there.

Great day to hike this trail. Streams and mini waterfalls were flowing nicely. Also the icicles hanging from the bluffs were pretty cool. Trail was in good shape but a bit slippery.

All I can say is wow...this trail is a gem. You definitely need supportive shoes. We went after snow and rain so the trail was slick, wet and muddy. The falls were roaring and what amazing sight!

Great trail. Today just a little cold and muddy/icy. Had my son with me and he really wanted to fish, so we did. Nice time with him!

Went after really hard rain. If you have good hiking boots, would recommend. Was fun. 90% of the trail is next to moving water. About 1.8 miles in we did have a slightly difficult creek to cross. We walked maybe 300 steps to find a safe spot. And there was flooding, but no warning that it would affect the trail. The last 1/4 mile was completely under water. (Near the 1000 step trail) and we had to walk through the woods to the parking lot. Ton of fun, really challenging, took a little more than 3 hours

A rather well-maintained loop. My expectations for it being a 'nature trail' were wildly shattered when it turned out to be more of a gravel road through the wilderness than a rough trail. That said, it is certainly a good track for a casual walk, though there are some signficant hills. *For open/concealed carriers: this IS ACoE managed land.

love this trail

Great trail with varied landscapes, valley overlooks, bluffs, rocky terrain, hills. Will give you a good workout following the trail counter-clockwise. I have hiked it in the early summer and in mild winter. During the summer there is a lot of vegetation and lots of wildflowers in the valleys

Worth the hike, just be careful of rocks under leaves when leaves are on the trail. Other than that worth it! Wear good hiking shoes.

unless you have both an app with trail downloaded, GPS(no cell service), map & compass do not do. Southern most portion is very off trail due to previous floods, downed trees & over grown.
