Great to let dogs free range. Well groomed trail.

This is a fantastic trail, especially for beginners. It's a tad wider for the most part, adequate and frequent water sources.

well kept trail. just a few spots on walkway that need replacing. there's a view of the river but could use some trimming so you can see more. no access to enter the river.

Fun trail system; if you want to do the full loop around the lake, you’ll have to walk on the park roads for the second half. You can map your own route though with the horse trails. Pretty muddy due to recent rains. Beautiful scenery, I highly recommend if you live in the area. $4 entrance fee to the park.

Good trail for hiking, dogs, and mountain biking. Lots of shade. Muddy in areas depending on how much rain. Lots of different trails to take depending on how far you want to go. We went 4 miles today and still haven’t explored all the trails. Not always clear which trail leads back so it is helpful to keep your phone on you.

Great trail. First trail this decade January 1, 2020 both the dog and wife liked it.

Entrance off of Lakeland Drive. Parking at first parking lot. Trail follows down giving views of the Pearl River and Pearl River Dam. Turned around at stairs going up to Natural Science Museum since it was closed and a chain was across the trail. The trail itself was nice and had gravel in most places. There were bridges crossing a few low places where the washout was. There was also some mud in a few places due to the river rise during the rainy seasons. Over all it’s a good trail and we will return.

Great hike!! Very nice!

At first this seems to be an excellent place to go and experience nature in south Louisiana with hills, at first. The "improved" trials are wide with a layer of gravel. On nice days there is high traffic and it seems that many of those folks have little respect for nature. My biggest complaint are the people with loud music, alcohol, hemp and some allowing their children to "act like animals". Actually, that comment is an insult to the wild animals in the area. If you hike there take the (real) primitive trail but do not drink the water, it gets peed in.

This was a difficult trail but fun, none the less. My family and I actually walked the creek so we were climbing rocks, steep inclines and jumping boulders. I didnt know MS had this terrain available. It is definitely a trail for the more FIT. I would rate this as difficult and not moderate.

Beautiful hike in Central MS. The trail was clear and easy to follow. The only negative we faced was the mud making the trail slippery. It became too dark for us to continue as far as we planned to go.

It was a good mix of trails. They need to put more stone/gravel on steep inclines where it is extremely muddy.

I’ve been here a few times and always have a great trip. Pro tip: I always run into people who are short in water around the big loop. The creek doesn’t run along that side of the trail. Today was really muddy and washed in spots. Our group decided to do some off trail hiking and ended up climbing up some mud slides. It was a blast. The trail can be tricky when getting back on after the big water fall.

Easy walk. Great for kids.

Trail was better than expected. Perfect for a stroll or a jogging route. Various boards with history about the area. Also ran into various white tailed deer. It had been raining for days, and yet the trail was taken care of and not very wet. The bridges throughout the trail were cute.

Great beginner trail. Absolutely no rough terrain. Just terribly muddy and wet. Also, I’m a nature lover, but this one’s a lil boring. I guess because I live in the tupelo ecosystem, so I see swamps like this all the time. However, there is a beautiful little meditation spot on the left branch of the trail, called “Swamp ‘Loop’”. Update: I hiked an unofficial trail to the right of the parking area. Not suggested. Seems like where all the druggies and hillbillies hang out. I think I stumbled across a homeless person’s dwelling??? I had been told kids come here to smoke pot and hide from the law. Has a boat ramp, though, and a human-made trail to underneath the railroad bridge. Didn’t follow it all the way because I started to get the heebie-jeebies. Lots of trash.
