Snowshoeing with Shira in baker park reserve. Nice trail through the woods.

This trail is a mountain bike park. It’s used by many advanced mountain bikers. It’s ok to hike here but it’s important to know that mountain bikers will come up on you very fast at times so be prepared to jump out of their way.

Awesome trail overlooking the harbor and city. Snowy but well maintained.

Came here with my dog in January, it was very steep and slippery, nothing we couldn’t handle but a bit dangerous with the conditions. We had the place to ourselves and had a great time running through the woods at the end of the trail and sitting by the frozen waterfall.

Beautiful day for a hike I maybe should have wore the snowshoes

Most of the eastern and northern part of the trail is multi-use meaning for horses and skiing. Poor for running, at least 3 inches of snow/slush on the path.

Trail closes at the top of the stairs across the river. Great spot to get out and stretch your legs with a small hike and make a quick meal.

Great moonlight hike with the dog tonight! Trails are packed well so YakTrax were perfect. 27 degrees and light snow.

I’m certain this trail is beautiful and a great hike, but my dog and I were forced to turn back only a mile into the loop. We came on 1/13/20 and there were sheets of ice across the trail. I wiped out 3 times and my dog who is super agile wiped out twice. If you do the hike during the winter months you’ll need special gear- spiked boots, and some sturdy hiking sticks, and maybe don’t take your dog when the ice is this prevalent. I assume Minnesotans know this already, but not being a native I foolishly thought I could hike this with regular gear. You don’t see conditions like this in the Ozarks that much, so I wasn’t prepared. My dog and I will return in the spring when the ice thaws.

Hiked to bean and bear lake on January 11th half in boots half in snowshoes although not entirely necessary but recommended. Beautiful hike and would definitely do it again. Only saw two other hikers the entire time. Trail was well marked.

Did this trail today, mid-January, temps well below freezing so we were able to walk on the flooded parts of the trail (and occasionally on the lake itself) no problem. Passed some “trail closed” signs at one point, didn’t have any issues. A great car-free 2-mile nature loop.
