We live nearby so we walk the parklands trails in Hopedale quite frequently and love it - but - the title on this is misleading. The mapped area in the app is actually the blue trail which is pretty easy, flat and wide. It’s accessible by car the whole way. The actual red trail is a bit more of a proper hike in that it is very steep and less well marked in some places, but also has some interesting structural points of interest along the way.

Trail loops around a small pond. First half is tar, second half is dirt (a little muddy this time of year with large puddles). Wear shoes you are okay with getting dirty! Nice trail for a short walk & for families.

Nice stroll. Easy walking. Good for a dog.

Not great parking but easy to find. I tracked 1.5 miles with the loop. Very flat and easy to follow with the AllTrails map. Didn’t see anyone else on the trail but I did see what looked to be an occupied encampment with a hammock up. Also saw a drilling equipment being walked down the trail and lots of piping. Curious to know what was going on in there (January 2020).

Great trail for my 5 year old and small dog in the winter!

This trail is a great local resource for stretching your legs and getting a bit of fresh air. Can be cold and windy in the winter but is worth bundling up for. Pretty trail that boarders the pond and is fairly easy to walk. There are places where the trail contains tree roots and rocks so hiking poles for those with balance issues or arthritic knees are helpful.

Nice walk to start the new year. 6 miles, mainly out and back on dunes and tidal flats as well as a lovely section thru scrub pine woods. I'll not plan another walk there, will go to other national parks instead

Nice area for a walk but was heavily used. A lot of dogs of leash so if your dog is reactive, it may not be a good place to go.

I would not recommend this trail and would suggest that it actually should be removed because this is private property as shown in the picture that I have attached and it should be avoided.

Wonderful easy hike. First walked down to Buttermilk Bay and could see the Bourne Bridge in the distance. Then did the upper loop across the footbridge to the large field and back along the stream. Delightful stroll.

Roads to trails and parking lots have been plowed since recent storm and are pretty accessible. We didn't see anyone else the entire time. Great spot for snowshoeing (and it also looked like some people had been cross-country skiing before us).

Nice trail with a mix of New England woods, meadows, and coastline.

It was a cold November day (30degrees), but sunny and I wanted to venture out with my pup, so we tried it out. Not bad at all. Trails are marked and some slight inclines. Watched a train go by. I'd give it a 5, but the end goes through a neighborhood and follows a street that was not busy. Did stop to read a history marker and learned about the town. Will do it again.

11.10.19. Always a pleasure to walk around this pond. This time, we extended this easy hike, just a little, by going clockwise and adding the Mt Wilcox trail to the Pond Loop. Distance: 2.2 miles Elevation Gain: 157 feet Moving Time: 0:51:58

Great trail, a little hard to follow in some parts so be ready to look at your phone a lot. Also, the app sends you the last part along a busy road with no sidewalk, very very unsafe. I ended up doing it crossing back and forth where there was some shoulder I could walk. I’d recommend the last loop around the pond just close it and go back along the way you came.
