It was an unseasonably warm January day, in the 60’s so that’s probably why it was a little muddy. As long as u wear good hiking boots u will b fine! It was a busy trail, but it was nice out!! We saw lots of ppl w pups, like us! In the summer I assume it’s even busier than it was today! But it was a pretty walk!

Very icy and wet, unable to complete trail at this time of year.

Not enough trash bin ! People end up Throwing dog poop bags on the trail or don’t pick up after their dogs. Great for family ! Very crowded over the weekends. But if your looking for a short easy hike, this one is worth it.

Nice stroll. Easy walking. Good for a dog.

This trail is a great local resource for stretching your legs and getting a bit of fresh air. Can be cold and windy in the winter but is worth bundling up for. Pretty trail that boarders the pond and is fairly easy to walk. There are places where the trail contains tree roots and rocks so hiking poles for those with balance issues or arthritic knees are helpful.

Hey everyone, This trail isn't actually open to the public -- only the Appalachian Trail part is public. Please don't use the side trail past the pond. Mount Race can be reached from Route 41 (via the Race Brook Falls Trail) or, for a longer hike, from East Street / Mt. Washington Road via Sage's Ravine (that's the parking lot right on the MA/CT border), but the Plantain Pond trail is off limits, according to the camp.

Nice area for a walk but was heavily used. A lot of dogs of leash so if your dog is reactive, it may not be a good place to go.

Short flat walk with pretty views of the pond.

Wonderful easy hike. First walked down to Buttermilk Bay and could see the Bourne Bridge in the distance. Then did the upper loop across the footbridge to the large field and back along the stream. Delightful stroll.

We had a wonderful Christmas Day hike around cliff pond today. We saw a few hikers and a fisherman. The views were beautiful reflecting in the clear pond. Easy to follow the yellow markers all the way around.

Keits took hostage Keesa and began building a bonfire scrambled thru woods to rescue vehicle. When we took control we croaked the whole jauner.

Nice forest trail. Not too challenging or spectacular, but fun and relaxing

Beautiful views and easy hike. We did it during the winter month. There are about 3 narrow places where you have to watch out for prickers snagging your jacket. We saw about 20+ fishermen.

Easy trail from the NY side. We went on a super rainy day in early May and the waterfall was spectacular. Beautiful woodsy hike, nobody there but us that day so it was really peaceful. Took a drive to the top of the mountain where it started snowing.

My first time there on a prestorm wintry day and it was nice that it’s not that many people. The beginning of the trail was a bit narrow. The noise was high because someone’s property was having there leaves blown away and it was so noisy. I couldn’t hear myself think or hear some birds around. The entry trail was also full of homes and it didn’t have the ambience I was looking for. The loop was out as well so I didn’t get to see the entire trail.

Wife and I decided to get a hike in before Winter Storm Abel hits tomorrow. Beautiful views on the summit and ridgeline. wife spotted a black bear near the bridge at the AT split off.
