Easy hike, great for families and dogs. Wildlife tracks everywhere. A few broken bridges forced us back a few times. Found a path to a sandbar on the river. Dogs loved it. Only negative was an older gentleman letting his dog roam free at the trail head. Was a problem for us and for a woman and her small child exiting as well. Not the park’s fault of course, some people just don’t get it.

These are great trails, well maintained and multiple loops distances to choose from.

Bridges out in a few places makes it a moderate hike. Still possible to make it through and see some pretty sights

nice trail maintained well. seen deer and beautiful lake views.

I wish I had seen the Abadalla Sherif posting before last Sunday... went down Lamotte Creek Loop... tornado damage was severe.. downed trees made trail impassable.. had to leave trail,,, going cross-country,,, eventually made it back to Azalea Trail.. sent email to Forestry Service... asking them to post notice on trail..

Love this trail! It has a couple different options for an inner loop or outer loop, so the layout is cool! The boardwalks and decks were very nice and the trail was well maintained. Also I love their welcome center, it homes a wide variety of creatures, such as birds, mice, turtles and reptiles! They also have a beautifully stuffed blonde beaver in the front of the shop that is magnificent. Highly recommend!

I haven’t tried this trail yet because I can’t bring my dog and I always hike with my dog, but I really do want to check it out some day. Giving it 1 star because says no dogs. WHY NOT? Kids, and really any human, can do way more damage than a dog.

Winter update: January has been quite rainy and the trail reflects that. Quite a few places that you'll have to use wood planks (so kindly placed by either park staff or others) to cross water (stagnant and moving). Slick mud patches and came back with wet socks, but still a very wide easy trail with great scenery and wildlife viewing. Saw a bald eagle and flying pelicans.

This is a really good trail! Most of it is a boardwalk until you get to the picnic area in which there is a small trail off the boardwalk. Still really nice and easy walk with my dog. Lots of lizards and potentially salamander (can’t tell).

Really easy trail! Only issues was there was mud. But we saw 4 armadillos!!! Great for dogs! Make sure they are on a leash because there are traps off the trail!

well maintained..great for our dogs!!!

This is a really nice trail that is well maintained and has good views. Very enjoyable for walking dogs!

Perfect. We've spent the last two gorgeous afternoons at Lakeshore. The trails are well-marked, beautifully maintained, and inviting. You'll find some benches at pretty spots along the way and even be surprised by bits of art. Time can pass quickly on a delicious day because it's so easy to "try another trail" or to "let's just go again- one more time."

Nice trail, not too busy, but it is easy to end up walking in circles in some areas. I only chimed the red trail, and it is not very well marked. I ended up walking probably extra mile around the 3 mile marker because of the poor marking.

Great concrete trail. Just about 3 miles out and back. Shaded and some sunny spots. A few benches to sit and watch wildlife. Great for dogs, must keep on leash though

You should follow the rules and walk towards the bikers. Safer and more pleasant this way

Lovely urban park with paved loop and an outer unpaved loop. Great people watching and is on both bus and trolley routes. You can link to the levee trail, too

Really nice walk on a really nice day. We saw only two other groups the time we were there. The trail was mostly dry and we saw maybe 20 armadillos and tracks for raccoons and deer. The trail maps do not show how the trails connect for a loop so we went out and back.

this trail is closed because of tornado damage

Nice hike but not marked well at all.

Started at parking lot and went 3.5 miles and camped out(hammock friendly) then back the next day for a short trip to test out some new gear. Super muddy no water access on that section.

One of our favorite trails. I hiked this with my husband & 3 kids today. There was definitely some over growth and fallen trees but this made the trail more interesting. A couple of spots where the trail gets very narrow (width of 2 feet only) with deep ravines on either sides, makes for some exciting spots to navigate. Lots of steep ups & downs. The red blazes were easy to follow except at around the halfway point, along one of the river beds, but we got back on track easily. Saw lots of wildlife tracks & birds. It took us about 2.5 hours with stops for water only.

Red Trail could be better marked but overall not a bad hike. It's 11 miles not 10. I missed part of the trail.

Really nice trail, there’s been a lot of repairs done since last time I came here. Bridges were built and trails cleaned up.

Great trail.

It was misty rain when we went but the Gorge Run trail was in great condition and well marked. This would be a great place to take kids and spend the entire day as they have plenty of areas for play, fishing, picnicking. We will definitely go back. I would rate this trail easy versus moderate.
