I only did the Blue Trail, which is a 3.9 mile loop. Well-marked and well-maintained trail through mixture of bottomland and ridgetop pine forest. Some minor ups and downs. Good wildlife viewing along the Calcasieu River. Overall, possibly the best hike in southwest Louisiana.

First time riding the Blue Trail today. I rode 4.9 miles and it was clearly marked, not too hard of a trail but it was a great ride with different elevation changes . I will definitely ride it more often.

Easy, flat walk. Fun to see the river! Stayed at the KOA

Nice hike. Seen deer.

Bugs bad obviously it’s Louisiana. And uneventful no wildlife other then one squirrel for my dog to case on her 40 foot leash. Come on State parks lift the leash laws I’m sick of getting kick out of park after spending my money.

Great trails. Dogs are allowed on all trails but must be on leash. Was there last weekend and bugs were not bad surprisingly although we sprayed first.

I have hiked every trail there now. I enjoy them all. To manage that many trails in such a small area is impressive. Have seen countless wildlife including deer within arms reach. Great paths by the river and marsh. Most go for a Smooth lazy day

Good trail, I’ve ran prolly 7 miles of it, real pretty at sunset. You can see the river at some parts, the part I ran had trees in the way of most of the river. The trail is paved but a little beaten, and sees runners, lots of cyclists, and even people in motorized scooters.

Nice trail, saw several snakes while hiking this trail. Cypress trail was super hard to follow, as trail was not groomed whatsoever. Bugs are pretty bad, bring bug spray!!

We did the trail with 5 kids ranging from 2yrs to 11yrs old. This was our second time and it wasn’t hard.

Hiked the blue trail, taking the upper blue trail at the fork. Nice hike but definitely bring bug spray. The mosquitos will eat you alive.

Biked through the blue trail 3.9 miles. Terrain is hilly and follows a small stream. Lots of sharp turns and exposed roots. Great trail to skip the gym for leg day! Use bug spray, lots of mosquitoes.

Ok - so if you are just trying to get off the city streets in New Orleans this is a nice paved, flat, straight trail. That’s where the good ends. There is no scenery and getting there from downtown (I stayed at the Hilton Riverside) was a bit scary. I would not run on this trail or travel to this trail alone. I got about 5 miles in on the actual trail.

amazing trail for road cycling.

Beautiful walk around the river to see the amazing sights.

Ride it daily. has a lot of shady areas so when tired you can stop and rest. Almost imposible to get lost.

We rode the western end of the trail. Easy ride atop of the Mississippi levee with the river on one side and the river road on the other. Industry , ships, barges, plantations and communities are the sights and an occasional alligator, turtles and colorful ducks were observed.

No dogs allowed? For real?

Road running.

Great hiking trails with beautiful scenery. We enjoyed the purple trail (Long Leaf Pine extension) the most. Park is well-kept. Highly recommended and will return.

I love this trail but why can’t you walk your dogs on it??? Seems silly you can ride horses but can’t bring your dogs. If they don’t except leashed dogs and people that clean up after them , I will not use it and will continue to ask and tell people about the no dogs policy!!!!! Stupid!!!!! Louisiana needs to become more dog friendly like other cities where I have taken my dogs and they were welcomed in restaurants, trails, beaches, shops, etc. My dogs are better behaved than most people ‘s kids. The Lakefront allows dogs. I wish someone who is in charge of the Tammany Trace would address this

it was fun and easy. it's nice to try to go as fast as possible on the mountain bike. sharp turns. medium speed to crawling speed. small uphills abd downhills not longer than 50 ft

We took the trail with our 4 kids. It was a bit harder with a jogging stroller but we got halfway thelugh before they tired out. Great trail but really muddy since we’ve had lots of rain.

Great variations of trails; flat, muddy or dry, very little elevation changes, good switchbacks though. Beautiful woods; pine and hardwoods, watch out for roots.

Beautiful drive. Allow time for stops, maybe a hike. The Longleaf Vista trail is beautiful and easy enough for most visitors.
