Pretty good trail. It’s boardwalk/gravel the entire length. Rangers don’t allow you to deviate from the trail. Saw 2 squirrels, 1 friendly Nutria, 1 Bald Eagle from a distance, 1 alligator mom with 3 tiny babies, a few small birds. Quite a few people on the trail...

This is a very fun trail.

One of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever been to. Also love that it’s dog friendly! Super cool place!

Love this trail! It has a couple different options for an inner loop or outer loop, so the layout is cool! The boardwalks and decks were very nice and the trail was well maintained. Also I love their welcome center, it homes a wide variety of creatures, such as birds, mice, turtles and reptiles! They also have a beautifully stuffed blonde beaver in the front of the shop that is magnificent. Highly recommend!

Very nice. On the trail right now at the end enjoying the bench, water, and view. About to head back. Very well maintained especially the boardwalk. I know how hard it is to keep up with wooded platforms in this area. Only one small complaint, but not a big deal...the gravel has many big pieces that caused me to twist my ankle a few times when I was jogging, so you really have to look down the entire time. Pea gravel would be better than limestone, but I’ve twisted my ankle and even fell on dirt trails tripping over tree trunks. But I am a klutz, so can’t blame the trail.

I haven’t tried this trail yet because I can’t bring my dog and I always hike with my dog, but I really do want to check it out some day. Giving it 1 star because says no dogs. WHY NOT? Kids, and really any human, can do way more damage than a dog.

Winter update: January has been quite rainy and the trail reflects that. Quite a few places that you'll have to use wood planks (so kindly placed by either park staff or others) to cross water (stagnant and moving). Slick mud patches and came back with wet socks, but still a very wide easy trail with great scenery and wildlife viewing. Saw a bald eagle and flying pelicans.

This is a really good trail! Most of it is a boardwalk until you get to the picnic area in which there is a small trail off the boardwalk. Still really nice and easy walk with my dog. Lots of lizards and potentially salamander (can’t tell).

Really easy trail! Only issues was there was mud. But we saw 4 armadillos!!! Great for dogs! Make sure they are on a leash because there are traps off the trail!

well maintained..great for our dogs!!!

This is a really nice trail that is well maintained and has good views. Very enjoyable for walking dogs!

Great trail.near home!Very well maintained by property owners and very gracious of them to provide access. There is a walk in and walk out trail approximately 2 miles round trip. The trail splits into two different trails the mountain road trail is very easily handled for fit adults and healthy and disciplined children. The False Mountain trail is primitive and somewhat rugged but signs advice that for experienced hikers. Treat the area as primitive and off the grid for more than likely you will see noone else.Landowners have provided a few Hunter orange and pink vests to be worn during hunting season. The trails are fairly well marked and should be followed please adhere to landowners request not to venture off designated routes! The surrounding area is fairly rugged and predator wildlife may not be out of the question. No firearms use any prevented deterrents you can buy at any hunting outlets!I for one saw very little wildlife but heard several birds! The area is idealic in rugged Southern forest and at the top a nice overlook at the top of Driskell of Mt. Jordan. There are benches at the top and area is pristine in nature so place adhere to the no trace left behind. Pack your backpacks according as if in survival mode with plenty of water and high protein snacks...I will return it's a beautiful off the grid place!..Wade Thrower, Haughton Louisiana...and again kudos to the private property Land owners ,local trail clubs and Boy Scouts!!

Perfect. We've spent the last two gorgeous afternoons at Lakeshore. The trails are well-marked, beautifully maintained, and inviting. You'll find some benches at pretty spots along the way and even be surprised by bits of art. Time can pass quickly on a delicious day because it's so easy to "try another trail" or to "let's just go again- one more time."

Nice trail, not too busy, but it is easy to end up walking in circles in some areas. I only chimed the red trail, and it is not very well marked. I ended up walking probably extra mile around the 3 mile marker because of the poor marking.

Great concrete trail. Just about 3 miles out and back. Shaded and some sunny spots. A few benches to sit and watch wildlife. Great for dogs, must keep on leash though

You should follow the rules and walk towards the bikers. Safer and more pleasant this way

Lovely urban park with paved loop and an outer unpaved loop. Great people watching and is on both bus and trolley routes. You can link to the levee trail, too

Enjoyed a great New Years Day Hike yesterday. It had recently rained so there was a little standing water in some places. $4 for the guided hike.

Really nice walk on a really nice day. We saw only two other groups the time we were there. The trail was mostly dry and we saw maybe 20 armadillos and tracks for raccoons and deer. The trail maps do not show how the trails connect for a loop so we went out and back.

This is meant for someone to take a leisurely walk through the swamp. It’s about a 5-minute complete walk in and out/total length about .2/mile.

My husband and I took our 4 year old and two year old on 12/31/19. It was beautiful and the 4 year old was able to do the 1.5 mile loop without any help. Didn’t pass any other hikers while we were there. We brought water boots to let the kids splash around the little waterfall/rocky creek area. We also packed a picnic and sat on the rocks by the waterfall for lunch. Highly recommend.

this trail is closed because of tornado damage

pretty cool little hike just recovering from injury so i was slow trail and buttes were great
