Really enjoyed this one! Came to Louisville to visit friends and came across this little gem. Not marked but easy to figure out with signs here and there. Nothing spectacular to see however really nice trails to roam on. Seems like there is plenty of other trails in the area to take advantage of. I’ll be back!

Love this trail. I have walked it many times with my dog and he loves it too. Great walk in the spring, but bring binoculars! There are some really beautiful birds to be seen! Also a very good restaurant right next to the trail. My family and I often eat there and then go walk the trail afterwards to work off part of our dinner. Very fun and family/pet friendly.

Great hike! Peaceful lake at the end of the trail, which loops back around if you follow the appropriate signs and leads you back to the parking lot. Up and down elevation but keep an eye out - lots of tree roots along the trail to be aware of if you’re clumsy footed like me. Beautiful scenery.

Really lovely trail with lots of narrow ridges that winding through juniper and pine. Several sections of elevation gain, but worth it. Lovely trail.

Very well maintained trail. Beautiful, serene lake that is great for a picnic. No markers on trees, so pay attention to the signs. Go clockwise, and get your climb at the beginning.

Hiked trail 12/29 thru 12/31. Trail was in good shape -- a few downed trees here and there but nothing too hindering. Our first day on the trail it rained all day and almost all night so water was plentiful in the many "ponds" along the trail. However, no promises on water being that abundant during drier times. About 10 miles in from the northern terminus, there is a small park with creek, water spigot, fire pit, picnic covering that backpackers can use. We wish we had known that before sleeping out in Hurricane Katrina the night before. Scenery met expectations. Beautiful woods and hills and creeks but not much of a wow factor.

Incredible Xmas day hike.

Challenging both ways for the beginner. Was disappointed at the lack of wildlife, even squirrels.

nothing much to see. didn't give it a 1 star because it wasn't trashy or poorly marked (just follow the paved path.) I won't do it again though

Amazing fall weather for a beautiful jog! Not too many people out either. Roads are smooth, trails are a little too damp for biking.

Pretty cut and dried sidewalk path across the dam. You might get lucky and see someone catch a fish.

Ok, I don’t write reviews much. Or ever. I’m in Kentucky for work and I brought my bike. I did the whole trail one way and then back. It’s nice. Smooth. Scenic. Quiet. Everything you’d want. What was completely absurd is all the god damn loose dogs at the hillbilly houses that are along the trail. Nearly a dozen times I got chased by a dog. Sometimes two dogs. I’m lucky I’ve been cycling for a long time and I’m strong so I could get away. I wanted to shoot the damn dogs. Maybe it was the time of year? Middle of November. But these degenerates just have their dogs running loose outside their trailers the entire length of the trail. I’m glad I live 15 hours away so I’ll never be tempted to go back.

Nice, clean, paved trail. Good for running or walking. Dog park at one end and a spot close to the library where my dog can get in the river for a cool down. Only thing I don't like is, because of it's location there are moments it can feel a little sketchy. I do see a few people out on it by themselves but most have a dog or partner.

Short but nice. Road is well maintained. The Best Part: The segregated lanes so one is safe while cycling. Short: It takes multiple loops to give one enough riding time and a good enough workout.

I would recommend this trail for anyone looking for a quick rewarding work out. The lake at the far end of the trail is very serene and quite pretty. Will definitely be coming back later in the fall to see it when the leaves start to change color. The trail itself is very maintained.

This was my first backpacking trip and we didn't get a chance to complete it due to the high temperature and lack of water sources on the second day (creeks were all dry). Would probably have been fine in cooler weather.

Enjoyed this trail. Will be back again to do more walking! I felt safe but there were a lot of places with no shade.

I live right across from Iroquois Park and use the trails a lot. While I enjoy the back trails of the park, I do not care for the main one at the bottom which circles the park because I'm not sure who the genius who designed the trail, but having it share vehicle traffic was not a very good idea. If you like breathing exhaust fumes, then this bottom trail is for you. However I take the back trails and really enjoy the scenery plus you get quite the work out going up the hill. Some of the trails have washed out so be careful on navigating on them. Sometimes you have to go around a section which erosion has altered. That being said once you get to the top of the hill there is another one which is shared by traffic but only a couple days a week. That's when I'm usually walking on that one. Overall a very nice hiking experience, albeit for the bottom trail and the vehicles. I would have given the review 5 out of 5 if it weren't for that factor.

not safe was told by hp to go some where else high crime area. we couldn't even find the trail.

Took our grand girls on the trail. We all enjoyed the wild flowers, the old rail bridges, and even seen two deer. Very enjoyable trail.

Not all lit up at night. No clean toilet facilities. The ones located at the beach stay nasty and bug ridden. Porta-John located at the far end of the dam, but you must walk down the hill to get to it. Otherwise the hotel itself is the only clean toilet facilities.

Didn’t realize that it was blacktop until we got there but it’s still a great walk. Beautiful countryside.

Paved, wide trail, flat, with nice view of water. Pokemon go players can find a pokestop & a few spawn points along the way. More stops around the beach area. Bathroom facilities was the worst! Toilets wont flush, gnats everywhere, & doors wont latch closed.

Yes, this trail is perfect for mountain bikers and those looking for a quick hike. The problem is that there are no trail heads, blazes, or mile markers. I had to go hunting for the trail. This is a very established path with many crossroads. Without GPS and this app I would have been off trail most of the time because of short cuts and other intersecting paths. I would not recommend this trail.
