Easy trail. At least to the overlook. Tough trail to the creek. Nice overlook. Saw a few deer. Worth hiking.

Loved this trail. I’ve actually done it 2ce now. It’s a nice shady walk with views of the lake most the way around

Great trail! It can be a little wet

Nice place to take a quick easy hike or to walk dogs. Quite pretty and well maintained. VERY HARD TO FIND. Do not use Apple or google maps! It will take you to a rutted, private, dirt road that doesn’t even go to the trail area. Use this link and click on printable map to access correct directions: https://naturalareas.eku.edu/taylor-fork-ecological-area It’s located on the EKU campus. You’ll have to open a farm gate to drive thru. The public is welcome but you have to drive thru the gate to the little turnabout parking area, then walk thru another gate. The gates have to be closed and latched behind you cuz there are cattle. We were warned the cattle don’t really like dogs sometimes so walking in on the gravel road is a bad idea. Once inside the trail area, it’s fenced with no cattle inside. The river is more like a creek but quite pretty and there are numerous picnic tables, benches, and nature signs.

This unofficial trail takes you out to Hopewell, Snow, double deer, and another arches. it begins at the Copperas creek canoe launch and follows the creek upstream towards Copperas Falls. The trails to the arches are unmarked and overgrown with a lot of blowdownss and route finding issues. these are beautiful arches in a remote feeling setting. the trail to Hopewell is very easy now but the trail to the other arches has had many route changes over the past few years due to overgrowth and downed trees. there is another small arch below snow arch out towards the end of the ridge.

All the way to Porter Suspension Bridge and back, had to cross creek through water and suspension bridge is off track on far end (see pic). Fun adventure!

Really fun trail. We went after a rainy day and the trail was still in nice shape. Great views with a little work to see them. I think in the summer the views would be harder to see. Great hike in a beautiful area!

Couple puddles here and there but nothing you can’t go around. Good peaceful trail. Great for trail running

Easy to follow trail, a tree to jump over here and there, but otherwise clear, open path. Pretty cool to picture a young Abraham Lincoln playing in the same woods!

This is another trail in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Winter hiking in Southeast KY is the best! Best to go on this trail after there have been recent rains. The recent cold weather was a bonus for the ice formations.

went in the winter. The 6 foot Ice cycles that formed along the rock wall all during the drive up and the snow covered trees arching over the road made this awesome for my daughter and i who are from Georgia and dont see a lot of snow. I could see how this trip could be less exciting in the summer but go during the winter and it is amazing.

Great trail with management practices in place to remove honeysuckle. Would recommend to any EKU student looking for a quick hike.

Very well marked trail. Easy and fun for my kids ages 4-9. Dogs are allowed on leashes but be sure to bring bags to pick up after them. We brought our dog too and she had a blast.

I saw several trees knocked down and for the first time ever, heard at least 4 trees fall. Also, the icicles are melting and falling on trail. Be careful!

Enjoyed the trail. This trail is located in Bernheim Forest so you’ll be in a forest setting. There’s no overlooks which was fine with me. Unlike previous reviewers, having those yellow markers is a great thing when hiking the trail in late fall or winter. A 4 inch layer of leaves covers the forest floor making it impossible in numerous areas to actually see the trail. Many spots that you had to go over, under or around downed trees but that’s expected because...you’re in a forest!

Unmarked trail. If you want to see Hopewell Arch be prepared to do a little bit of bushwhacking.
