It was brutal but awesome!

I saw several trees knocked down and for the first time ever, heard at least 4 trees fall. Also, the icicles are melting and falling on trail. Be careful!

This was a lot of fun, but make sure to bring some extra socks and shoes (maybe pants). You are above the creek for the first quarter to half mile or so, and then making frequent crosses between sides. I made it to the falls only being wet to my ankles, but just went for it on the way back and got wet to my knees. I went on a Sunday and it had rained a lot that previous Friday. Several tree trunks to use for crossing. Not required, but will keep you drier for longer. It’s actually quite lovely with all the large rock formations. It makes you feel a little like you’re in the land of giants. This isn’t a difficult hike, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.

Great hike and not to strenuous. Once you park your car, facing the bathrooms the trailhead starts to the left of the bathrooms (away from the bridge). Lots of creek crossings and your feet will be wet after doing this trail..make sure to bring extra shoes and socks for afterwards. My Apple watch tracked this hike at 5.9 miles roundtrip. Beautiful waterfall at the end.

Great little hike. Took my youngest boy 7, he loved every second of it. We got to jump accross the creek, climb over logs, and scramble up a few side trails, all the things we love!

This is a dog friendly trail and I would recommend it to anyone. A lot of uphill climb‘s but worth it nonetheless. A little rough if backpacking but definitely doable. Awesome trail if just going for a day hike.

Great trail. Not too steep. I love that it’s long so you can stop whenever you want or keep going. We went 4 miles out then turned around. The bridge is beautiful but at the very beginning of the hike. The rest of the hike is pretty typical. There is room for at least 2 cars to park at the trail head.

Beautiful hike through rhododendron forest. This is not an official trail within the Gorge so it’s not maintained. 1. Is trail marked? - No. (but common sense dictates follow the stream to the waterfall) 2. Are there creek crossings? - Yes. Enough of them that I lost count. This isn’t a maintained trail so there aren’t bridges so if you are worried about wet and muddy feet then this hike isn’t for you. 3. Should I hike this if it’s rained recently? - Only if you’re an asshole.

Hiked trail 12/29 thru 12/31. Trail was in good shape -- a few downed trees here and there but nothing too hindering. Our first day on the trail it rained all day and almost all night so water was plentiful in the many "ponds" along the trail. However, no promises on water being that abundant during drier times. About 10 miles in from the northern terminus, there is a small park with creek, water spigot, fire pit, picnic covering that backpackers can use. We wish we had known that before sleeping out in Hurricane Katrina the night before. Scenery met expectations. Beautiful woods and hills and creeks but not much of a wow factor.

Went on this trail in the afternoon. Parking lot was almost full. Hike was good. Boys played in dirt, their favorite part.

This is not an official trail so it is not maintained. However, if you don’t mind getting a little muddy it is not a difficult hike to the falls. The scenery is beautiful!

Great trail.

It's really good! It gets interesting about half way to the arch. The arch is amazing. Everything in real life always looks better than the pictures. Be careful, there was large falling ice from the edges of the arch with the mild temps. The second half of the loop is pretty brutal as far as the uphill goes (hiking clockwise) and I'm usually not a wimp about that stuff. The highlight of the second half are the calm walk along the stream at the very bottom and then the amazing views at the top of the some of the lookout points on the way back half. If you don't like long steep accents, then making this an out and back to the arch may be for you. Either way, it exceeded my expectations.

Great trail! The loop down to the arch is beautiful but be careful and remember that it is a loop around the arch. The end of the trail is very steep and is difficult for beginning hikers :)

short, easy with wooden steps
