Paved trail/road path. While there is timber throughout the park, the trail isn’t shaded. Neatest part about today’s walk was that I was the first person to traverse the entire loop for a couple of days, as evidenced by the lack of human footprints in the dusting of snow covering the trail. Saw a few deer, and wildlife trails in the snow for raccoon, rabbits, and some identified creature (off-leash or wild dog? large cat?).

Good three mile trail loop and excellent fishing spots

Mostly flat and paved with two colorfully lit bridges depending on the time of day. Not sure why this one’s considered moderate, though. I’d call it easy. Usually busy.

This trail is a great little (paved) oasis in the middle of the city. I’m not sure why it’s rated moderate though. It’s an easy walk or bike, depending on your mileage.

Nice little trail, nothing crazy

My wife and I enjoyed this shorter ride. There were a few places to pull off and we saw some pheasants and a few buffalo. The pavement is fairly new so it is in great shape. Road traffic was moderate and most people were fairly courteous. It is a 35mph zone the whole way so the ride is super safe.

A super easy, paved trail along the lake. You can take it out and back easily and there are nice lake views along the way. It runs along the road, so you are not completely covers by trees. I accidentally kept my recording running as we drove out of the park. So we only did about 1.5 miles total on this trail portion.

Mehhh.... A lot of highway noise on a fall day.

This trail was an OK ride. There was mud underneath the interstate 80 overpass bridge. We had to take an alternate route around to get to the other side and finish it. There were a couple Porta potty‘s along the way and some of the scenery was OK.

Short simple, asphalt trail. variety rather than walking residential, but nothing spectacular.

Complete asphalt trail, lots of tree canopy to shelter from sun or wind. Little traffic today. Met less than 12 people, so a great time to decompress. I'll be back!

My wife and I had an excellent time riding this trail. The traffic was light and people were friendly. It runs along Walnut Creek which offered great scenery while we were riding.

Parts along bird land drive were closed for river flooding and I had to walk along the road. Second part of hike past river view was a wonderful trail through the woods.

Not really a hiking experience and I would rate it as easy. The main trail is all blacktop. It goes through a wooded area, a prairie and ends in a busy street. The last eighth of a mile is a steep downhill, which you climb immediately on the way back. There are several dirt side trails that I did not take, but appeared not to be long.

Lovely trail - a varied landscape with patches of forests and bluffs as well as flatter areas. Paved all the way and excellent for families with strollers or kids on step scooters. The historical landmarks about the westward Mormon trek add interest.

This is an excellent perimeter trail around Oskaloosa. Plenty of areas to see wildlife and plenty of elevation gain to get a good workout.

The Katoski Greenbelt is a nice, easy ride when conditions permit. Black Hawk Creek is prone to flooding and the trail becomes overgrown by mid summer. The trail is most popular during the spring Bluebell bloom and can be absolutely beautiful. Winter activities such as fat biking, snowshoeing and XC skiing are also popular. This is just one section of the entire Greenbelt that extends both north and south of this loop.

Most of the trail is closed right now, and looks like it has been for quite awhile

This is a nice trail, but very busy. It is all paved. There are many dog walkers.

Beautiful trail, straight and flat. Easy. You can pick your distance with a shuttle car to many points with access to the road. Stay on the path, as there’s lots of healthy poison ivy close to the edge.

This is a great trail but it needs a complete resurfacing in the near future. Went from Waterworks to Martensdale and back and the stretch from Cumming to Martensdale is especially in need of work. If they get the trail resurfaced, I would rate it a 5 just for the quiet and terrain.

It is a fairly average trail. I didn't have any problems with bugs or anything like that. The pavement is in good condition, so it would be a great place for strollers, wheelchairs, or dogs. I will definitely be going back in the future.

We take this trail almost every week on Thursday for the Taco Ride. It’s a great trail for a hot summer day since it has great tree cover that shields you from the sun. The foliage is beautiful and the trail is well maintained. They do request a trail fee in order to maintain the trail, so don’t forget a couple dollars. There are great connections to small town along the way, and wonderful benches and rest stops. Great trail!
