Ankle deep crunchy snow for much of the path. I didn't continue on to Moose Marbles, but it looks like skiers are having little trouble.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice 5 mile hike. Not too much elevation and nice scenery.

Trouble with ice in lots of places. Beautiful city views. One water crossing. Easy elevation. Moderately trafficked.

Phone read 4.64m in 1:14:20 with 813ft of gain. I cut a couple of the major switchback and just ran straight up/down the hill (sorry erosion nuts). Cool loop that was snowy the whole way. Would have been super flowy on a mtb in the summer...

January hike right after a dusting of snow. Beautiful winter wonderland hike. You run into a small pond which was iced over today, low bonsai looking trees, and beautiful landscape in the distance. Saw a couple head of deer, coyotes, and hawks. Little muddy on the way back after things began thawing out, so early is better this time of year.

Pretty average for north of Boise hiking, it was icy and windy the evening I went which actually improved upon the experience, really. Few steep climbs were a decent workout. Signage is lacking in a few places for trail splits. Anyway, if you don't like dogs (or if your dog doesn't like other dogs) I'd skip this one, leashes aren't required and I was accosted by 4 random dogs. Two of which completely surprised me with their owners nowhere in sight. One of those was on a hillside with the width of the trail being maybe a foot and a half wide and a nice fall down the hill if I'd stumbled. So if your dog likes to run up to people consider leashing it on the hillsides and if you tend to fall over when surprised don't bother going on this hike.

Nice hike for an easier hike wear micro-spikes

Muddy in places, particularly the north side. Still OK to hike. Great views.

Good trail, little bit of a ledge on the beginning and starts uphill but then it levels out and is more like a walk. I did it during the winter and the path was fine.

Steeper than we thought but still easy enough. Really icy in spots could have used some crampons but enough snow to soften all the slips and falls.

Wonderful winter hike! Completed it just wearing hiking boots, but had to do a little sliding. I would suggest ice clips. Saw a couple elk as well.
