Trail was in good condition. Not muddy, a little soft and sandy, but not bad at all.

Trouble with ice in lots of places. Beautiful city views. One water crossing. Easy elevation. Moderately trafficked.

Perfect place for a short hike or snowshoeing.

January hike right after a dusting of snow. Beautiful winter wonderland hike. You run into a small pond which was iced over today, low bonsai looking trees, and beautiful landscape in the distance. Saw a couple head of deer, coyotes, and hawks. Little muddy on the way back after things began thawing out, so early is better this time of year.

Muddy in places, particularly the north side. Still OK to hike. Great views.

I would recommend this trail to anyone going for a nice run without too much incline or for anyone who wants to enjoy a casual hike. Really easy and not too long.

We parked our car at the area about .33 miles from the trailhead parking. As previously mentioned the last quarter mile is 4wd higher clearance only. The first part of the trail to the meadow is relatively free of snow and easy to follow. Once past the meadow, the trail quickly becomes snow covered in places and route finding becomes a challenge. We were the first to break the trail since the most recent snow which was fun. All in all the biggest challenges were the occasional treacherous ice patches. For this late in the year I am grateful to be able to slog it out without snowshoes. Get some while it lasts!

Not very scenic… Be careful of the mud in the wet months. The positive... it is very close to the city. I wish this trail would go closer to the water. Lots of boring open agricultural fields and not a lot of color. There were a couple of interesting photo ops… but other than that pretty blah.

This is more of a horse trail - it’s very flat, dirt/rock trail that I wouldn’t hike again.

Always one of my very favorite hikes to do in the area! The road back to the trail head parking lot was snowy and icy so you're definitely going to need a good all wheel drive or 4wd car. The trail it self was snowy/icy in some spots lower before and after the switch backs and the rest was a little on the muddy side. Still great for a beginning of winter hike!

Nice walk.

I have been hiking seamen’s gulch for years, in the past year it’s gotten worse with people not being responsible about picking up after your dog, is it that hard? They even supply bags for this. Don’t destroy our foothills be responsible!

Did a hiking out-and-back from Cartwright Road to Sweet Connie. Weather was great (sunny, high around 35), as were trail conditions (patchy snow, but the trail was firm without being muddy). Trail was basically deserted. Overall, the trail was pretty boring except for the stretch near the butte itself. The pond was cool - lots of different sorts of birds, including some woodpeckers.

Lovely chilly hike. It seems like people skip the farthest part of the loop but I would recommend that part the most.

Did this late November when there was plenty of snow on the trail and half of the river was frozen that you could literally walk on it. The trail is not hard to find as its not hidden behind trees/ bushes and its right by the side where you are required to brush your shoes. There's a camp spot after 2miles and thats where I spent a night, beautiful by the river side. Hiked further to find another spot after 3.7mile which is relatively small with no tree shade. There's another camp spot at the 5.3mile where the sunset creek meets crooked river. Will try that after winter.
