Trail was amazing. Loved it. The sink hole was amazing. A lot of stairs. The ground of the trails bumpy but so much fun. A short trail though, it is easy.

the park gate was closed so had to walk 2 miles in then get to the trail. saw hog with piglets and deer. made into loop to get back to the car. ended up 5.5 miles all together. first part of trail was awesome l. second half kinda over grown.

I would recommend this trail for anyone wanting to do a small hike with interesting structures and artifacts. It was a great first hike!

In my opinion this is the best hike in Central Florida. Large part of the hike runs next the river.

Beautiful!

Perfect short, easy trail close to Gainesville.

Nice trail overall - not clearly marked as to the path connections; be very clear trails. The sink is very interesting, take some time and watch the water drain at the end a moment. Saw several alligators in the sink ponds. Would be very warm in the summer as several paths have long stints of no shade.

This would be a very easy trail but walking on the rocks is tough.

Other than a few semi-beautiful Spots I was disappointed that there was no clear-cut trail. Other than having frisbee golf that seemed treacherous and a restroom in a few picnic tables and one wide open field I didn’t think very highly of this place

great little spot...no dogs allowed. lots of cars in lot but only saw 2 people on trails. $3 do get in. has facilities

Long portion of this trail was hard packed gravel along side a canal. Kind of boring. 3/4 of the way in I came across a pond that I could not get around and had to turn back. Did see two families of pigs

This was a beautiful little walk on a well maintained boardwalk. We went there at the end of our day exploring the northern Everglades. It was at dusk and we should have put on mosquito repellent, bur it was so worth it. Enjoy!

Nice trail. The section off of Martins Dairy Road was a lot nicer with a lot more elevation changes, a creek and lots of shaded. This section is still within Doris Leeper and is connected via a wood bridge on the west side of the loop. We made a six mile hike out of it. But you could make it longer. Confusing signage and a lot of mountain bikers. There is a west loop at the Martins Dairy Road lot that I will be trying out in the future. There is also some good places to view Spruce Creek along a small hikers-only section of trail.

I travel frequently and love to hike unfamiliar terrain and I also like a little challenge. I rely on the reviews of trails pretty heavily and this one sounded right up my alley based on the reviews in this app. I often hike alone, I’m very aware and I carry a hunting knife for protection. I’ve never had any problems and I’ve hiked almost every state in the US. If you’re a woman hiking alone, do not do this hike. There were some very questionable people doing questionable things in the woods. I’m not easily frightened and pretty much take people as they are, but this trail and these people gave me the creeps. I ended up abandoning the hike (which I have NEVER done) and went back to my car. Later I spoke to some locals who told me never to go there alone. I’m writing this review to warn others and wish some locals had also written a warning in their review. On a lighter note, the flats are really cool and I wish I could have explored them....super buggy and muddy though, wear boots and repellent.

My favorite day hike. easy walk and well maintained
