Pleasant short wooded trail. Flat and marked the old fashion way with boughs. Easy to gain mileage by adding some of the other neighboring trails. My walk was 5.5 miles

Veered into the woods from the Park Loop Trail to avoid gusty winds. Nice woodland walk and great change of pace from the paved loop trail. Might be a great spot for birds on a different day.

Nothing special- typical Delaware trail. Flat and not much to see. You’re able to add some extra mileage by adding offshoots of the trail, or exploring the footbridge area. Limited views of the pond but it’s not very attractive. Good for time/distance tracking.

This loop trail is a fun 2.6 miles perfect for someone looking for a quick escape to the woods or a family adventure. Always wildlife to be found and new sights to be spotted. Takes about a hour at a regular paced walk.

Very good trail for biking, expect to see runners too. The trail goes around lums pond and it’s very scenic. The trail itself is moderate not really easy, it has few roots and climbs and a lot of trees to navigate you can’t really build up speed on this.

This made for a great hike on a 70 degree day in January. A little mud from rain but overall great balance of shade and openness. We stayed along the orange blazes which according to the trail map in the park is only 3.5 miles. We did it twice to hit the mileage we wanted. Shared the trail with bikers, hikers, & dogs!

One of my favorite parks to hike. I started across from Ramsey’s Farm on Ramsey Rd (there is a parking lot there). It’s a brisk uphill start from the parking lot and then there are multiple trails you can branch off to. I took to the outside trails as much as possible and was able to have the trails mostly to myself, save a few horseback riders which was a nice surprise. I’ll keep coming back!

This is our favorite trail in the area. It provides nice views and walk down to the river is really pretty. It links up to other trails so you can easily extend your hike. There a couple short sections with steeper inclines, otherwise it’s a pretty easy trail. We will be doing it again in the spring when the woods are more lush. I’m sure it will have a different feel then and be even more beautiful. The one surprising thing is that it you can hear quite a bit of noise from work being done in the surrounding area. But given its proximity to Wilmington I guess I should be surprised.

Nice walking trail. Some areas are a bit uneven and have small easy to navigate hills. Can be buggy in the summer months which should be expected of all Delaware trails really.

Nice local trail. Can be buggy at times, but this should be expected given the area and proximity to water ways. Very easy trails.

Interesting trail; easy and lots of birds on the side that starts at the nature center, tree roots and a short climb on the return on the other side of the road. Too much road noise though.

more of a stroll

I went to Blackbird State Forest to see one of the three forests in DE. While the office was closed (UGH), I explored a bit and easily found the trailhead and saw great signs for an XC5K. Beautiful run! P.S. The trails are very well marked. I followed the XC5K signs which go on the blue and yellow trails. Oh and there was a PortaPotty at the trailhead.

Great for gravel bikes! Trail is a mix of dirt/grass/gravel/mud. Mostly flat, few up hills.

Well maintained trail and quiet once you get back into the woods.

Beautiful city park. The trail is relatively flat and paved except for an incline/decline from the parking lot. There is a good deal of grassy areas and many benches. There are several unpaved trails off of the main loop. There is a Delaware State Park trail at the back of the park called Hobbs trail.
