Great trail, not very many view points but a lovely moderate hike through the woods. We started at the trail head on Hoyt Road and followed the white AT trail until Bulls Bridge. It was a bit slippery with snow melting and the current conditions definitely added to our overall time. Proper shoes not required however with the current ice and mud they would help. If you are going to do the trail out and back be prepared for some inclines and steps ( wood and stone). Also leave yourself with enough time. We started at 1:30pm finished around 4pm. Got a ride back to trail head on Hoyt road due to not wanting to get stuck in the woods at dark.

Great trail with a dog.

Apparently "hard" actually means hard. Glad I picked a warm day for a first time and not with snow. Parts of this trail were literally like free climbing a rock wall. And not just a few feet, extended periods. I don't know the best way to get down something like that other than sitting on my butt, holding onto wherever I could get a grip and sliding down feet first, hoping to catch my feet on rocks every few feet to stop and not go too fast or fall or get hurt. Absolutely not what I was expecting. I'm not a professional hiker or backpacker, I do day hikes, but wanted to work on more elevation gain as I can walk forever on flat land, but not inclines. I picked this trail based on distance, overlooks and proximity to another place I wanted to take photos (Kent Falls).

I hiked all 6.8 miles of this trail today and it didn’t disappoint. The scramble up Cobble Mountain was covered in halfway melted snow and ice. It was terrifying, but the view was well worth the struggle to the summit!

This review is for the section of trail from Lebanon to North Windham. This trail is the perfect trail for winter hiking. At times, the trail glistened like it was paved with diamonds. Krampons were needed to help keep us on our feet on these icy trails. The trail led into Willimantic and dumped us onto Main Street. It was a great place to grab a quick lunch before heading finding the trail again. The lack of signs made the going rough, but thanks to Alltrails GPS, we were able to pick our way through the streets and find where the trail resumed. The ever changing scenery made this stretch of the trail interesting.

A nice straight forward trail. Good for dogs. I take my reactive dog and there is plenty of space to move over, especially in the fall time when there is good visibility. Just wear bright colors of course because hunting is allowed and keep your dogs on leash just to be safe. Also it's flooded where we stopped and turned around.

Despite warnings of trail closure, we through caution to the wind and hiked this trail It is a moderate, dog and family friendly trail that is a joy to hike. There are trail closure signs up that we ignored and continued on. I am glad that we did because we saw no one on this hike. There was no machinery or people working on thinning the trees as indicated by the sign. The trail itself was a mix of pond views, mossy glacial boulders, and pleasant hiking trail through the woods. There was just enough uphill and down to give a mild cardio workout. This was the perfect cold weather hike. I have hiked several trails in Bigelow Hollow State Park and have been please every time. It is just a great place to go.

this would have been a nice hike except for some unfriendly people at the park. This is not a dog-friendly Park. I was verbally attacked and followed by a woman because my dog was off-leash on the trails.
