Not my favorite hike. toward thebtop you do start to get 360 views but its just UP 3 miles and then back down the same 3. Views are okay. enjoyment level is low. Seemed at all times a portion of it was smog-covered.

A little bit shorter than it says. About 5.7 miles

good hike but you can only go so far with a dog. Little icy. Good views and nice work out.

I couldn’t complete stick on the trail thankfully the map helped

Super easy walk along the lake. This “trail” is a paved walkway that is well-groomed and dog friendly. Really awesome views along this trail. I’d recommend this as the most child-friendly trail in big bear (and a easy trail to push a stroller).

Its an incline the entire hike up to the summit with some spots getting to +10 degree incline. If you want a seat/ hammy workout it is pretty good. If it rains close to the time of your hike the trail turns into a sloppy mess as only parts have gravel laid down. I would avoid it if it rained the morning of your hike. It is also inhabited by herds of cows so there is cow shit everywhere after the first quarter mile or so. The views are nice on the way down but overall I didnt really find the appeal like so many other reviews stated. Its also a very popular trail.

Good trail it was just a little complicated to find, we asked a few people where to go and they all gave us wrong directions, eventually I found out I could use the map on this app. There are nice picnic tables at the top so bring food. We also made the mistake of wearing boots on this trail so had to walk barefoot.

I love this trail at all times of the year. The best part is if you sneak down by the river. Just know that if you come in the winter be prepared for mud!

Really awesome hike! Arrived at 8:40 Sunday morning and parking lot was full, parked on side of road real close. Hike had several types of terrain. Smooth trail, loose rock, rock scramble, single track, water crossing. Trekking poles help. Bring a change of shoes to drive back home in, your feet will be wet!

One of the most enjoyable trail hike I’ve ever done. Top 5 for sure.

Did this twice- on and around my birthday so it was winter time. This trail doesn’t have much or any shade depending on where you start so winter time, I think, is just perfect. It’s challenging because of the continuous climb but very manageable. Getting to the top was a bit more challenging. Fun to do it with a group but it’s a high trafficked trail so you can go by yourself as well.

I went on 1/24, it was nice and warm. Very varied scenery, starts with a paved path but then becomes a trail in the woods. Crowded but got emptier around 5. We started at 2 and ended at 5:30 doing a light walk. Great for families and pets. Parking is $5.

Nice easy walk with a few hills. Paved. Very crowded. Interestingly, the majority of people were walking counter clockwise. Lots of people with dogs but all were on leash. Great for a brisk walk or stroll. Parking is $1.50 per hour for 2 hr max or $7 for all day.

Really beautiful trail, part of it is paved and very hilly. The next part after the marina is dirt and less hilly and then the third part is full on trail running. Trails are perfect for running and walking. Pack plenty of water!
