To walk from the Publix to the end of the trail and then loop once around the harbor is gonna put you at walking around 9 miles. There is almost no incline though and there are pit stops along the way. It is great!

To be honest, at first this trail was a bit disappointing. Despite running right along the lake, the lake itself is obscured by foliage. It’s a very easy trail (paved the entire way), but that has the disadvantage of making the surroundings a lot less interesting. Two things to note, though: 1. Definitely check out the Shelby Lake Overlook. That was the best part of the trail, and I even saw an alligator. Pro tip: don’t take your bike out as the wooden walkway to the overpass is quite narrow. 2. This trail (along with pretty much all of the GSP ones) I found much more enjoyable by bike than walking. There are numerous free bike share stations around the park and all of the improved trails are easy, fun rides.

Love it every time I go.

Terrific town hike. Not too steep and great views of the city...the parking lot down by Green Springs has absolutely no signage. I am grateful to the commenter here or we would have never found the lower trail head. They have a huge parking lot and a great trailhead but i'm guessing no one knows about it. Shame.

Really well marked are of trails for hiking. Lots of mountain bikers on the trails as well as runners and hikers. Family friendly for the most part, some areas of overlooks where watching littles is required but fairly flat overall. My 5 and 8 year olds did two miles with no issues. Great family friendly hiking in the city.

Great trail. paved, well marked. Perfect for a fall walk if you don't mind the occasional sewer smell

Very flat travel with paved and gravel areas. Take hat or sunglasses due to large amount of sunlight on the trail.

Very flat. Did part of the rails to trails and around Black Creek Park

Great hike

I enjoy this trail during all seasons. There is a nice mix of sun and shade. The trail has slight inclines and is all gravel. Every time I ride this trail I see families and individuals walking and riding bicycles. A new section has been added so the total ride is 6.8 miles in and 6.8 miles out.

Other than getting caught in the rain it was wonderful :D if you must come while it’s raining, I would suggest bringing a coat and gloves for your hands because it got cold real quick! My hands were so stiff! you can’t see it but I’m typing really slowly... haha anyway, it was an exhilarating hike nonetheless.

The Black Creek Trail itself is a nice easy walking path near, but above, Black Creek. After about a mile on the trail, we walked down to the trail along the creek and this was a lot more fun for us. We walked this lower trail to the suspension bridge and then to the falls. The falls are awesome, especially if you climb down behind them. Unlike the actual Black Creek Trail, the lower path was much more of a workout and required a lot of rock scrambling.

Beautiful walk along the river. The one foot bridge is badly in need of repair. Otherwise 5 stars.

I biked this trail in October, and the weather was perfect! There is really very little shade on it until you get in the marsh by the lakes or to the north part of the park where there are lots of large hardwood trees. Otherwise, you are exposed to the sun, so in June, you would want to do this very early in the morning. The highlights for me are the elevated walkway through the marsh that you turn on off of Rosemary Dunes and the hardwoods. Lots of birds and natural gulf beauty. This is a perfect bike route. It took me about an hour and half because I went slow and stopped a few times. Highly recommended. But if you are walking, I'd park by the lake and do the walkway through the marsh and Gulf Oak Ridge Trail part of it. My mom was with me and walked, and only saw the Rattlesnake Ridge part of it, which is a little boring comparatively speaking.

Be assured this is a long walk on a gravelled trail. Not a hike. But if power walking or biking us your thing it would be great.

Very dog friendly, great shade

The trail was once paved, but it’s in very, very bad shape now, so don’t expect to be able to ride over it on a touring or road bike. You need a mountain bike with shock absorbers. It follows along the edge of a lake in shady forest, which would be nice for viewing if you could look up from the trail without risking a mishap.

Took this trail at 3pm, with a temp of 93f, so it was a bit of a fun challenge. I would recommend having a bell to notify walkers of your presence, as this trail is mildly populated with runners, joggers, and walkers.

Spooky at night, good views of the lake. Very well kept.
