Beautiful day in Jan so did long loop from Long Creek trail, Cape Henry, Osmanthus for 10 miles. Very busy but Long Creek the nicest views and least traveled.

Great trail to use for a trail run. Light traffic. A lot of shade. Well marked.

Shaded and more secluded of the trails in State Landing park. A little over a 3 mile hike in the woods.

This was a nice trail... combined the Bald Cyprus and Osmanthus trails. It was in the low 80s but really comfortable because the trails are mostly shaded. I would recommend if you want an easy hike.

Beautiful views of swamps and some fun little hills. Bridge broken in some places, but still able to cross.

this was a nice hiking trail to do with kids who like being outdoors. It was pretty long. any longer and we would have been in trouble with 5 kids and a dog.

Great sightings last weekend - spotted a red-bellied water snake right on the trail and a woodpecker. It felt like walking in a storybook with moss covered landscapes, gnarled trees, and lily pads. My little puggle did great on the 4 miles total we did getting to this trail and back.

More crowded than expected. Couldn’t let the dog off the leash for too long.

This trail is my favorite at First Landing State Park. You can do this simple three mile trail or wander off and add in extra miles by taking one of the trails it intersects such as the Bald Cypress. I would not recommend this trail for small children or parents with strollers as there are a lot of exposed roots, mud, and boardwalks in need of repair. I loved it, but probably not suitable for families with little ones.

A fun hike, very clearly marked and very easy to walk. Just be sure to bring tons of bug spray and watch for snakes. Also everyone who uses this app should also use the Picture This Plants app! It’s a fun app that you take pictures of the flora around you and it will give descriptions and details for said plant. I personally enjoy it and enjoy sharing my findings!

Great trail! Not difficult, very enjoyable and beautiful every step of the way. Camp sites and cabin available just across the road. Beautiful state park!

First Landing Park trails, in their entirety, are great way to spend your entire day. For the most part, they're all flat trails, with the only challenge coming in their length depending on how much you prefer to walk. Be sure to pick up a park map from the trail Center. It's worth noting that there's also a parking pass fee ranging from $5 to $10 depending on the time of year.

I have used this trail countless times while living in Virginia Beach. It’s pretty and as described, very easy. Compared to other trails in other places, it’s lackluster. However, it is beautiful in its own way and I have a special place in my heart for it. It’s great for trail running, but just watch out for dips, rocks, tree branches (and snakes). I have taken a couple falls and some very, very bad ankle sprains because of the uneven ground on this trail. So keep your eyes peeled, but enjoy. First Landing State Park is truly a treasure for coastal Virginia.

I like that it's a nice mixture of hills and flat areas. The small halls are super fun to run up and down ❤️
