the trails have been re-named but tagged well. Unless your a local or Pro hiker start off to the left. With the fall the leaves are plentiful on the ground and the path to the right is pretty steep. The new Blue markers the path is about 4.5 miles long and will get your attention on the way up and down. Not to many clear views but it's a beautiful walk in the woods none the less with a nice mountain peak walk at the top. if you go after Fall you do have some nice views just no real picturesque openings. As of the end of Jan. only a small portion of the trail has not been limbed so it is very passable and the trees have been cut out of the way. I'd give it a 5 star if it had some nice overlook on the trail I took. But the All Trail app does not recognize the name of the trails that area actually Marked. I was confused but went with it. They have signs all along the path that are not on the App.

The trail to the left after the swinging bridge is blocked by a large tree and not passable. The trail to the right is badly overgrown and needs to be cleared. It is my understanding that crews will clear both trails next week.

We used a trail description and it helped us find our way. It is frequently difficult to follow the trail. We did get lost for a bit when we accidentally went on the Shale Pit Trail. We saw a rattlesnake at Jump Rock. I didn’t see it til the snake rattled at me which is how we knew it was a rattlesnake. Views are gorgeous worth the challenge of the hike.

Trail was great! Only saw one person the entire day. Highly recommend using your phone and GPS to navigate. Was difficult to stay on the trail at some points. it took me 4:45h for the whole Loop including 10 minutes stops at both Lookout points. also saw two snakes on the trail. I don't think they were poisonous but it still made me jump a mile.

Note: This trail is on the Goshen Boy Scout Reservation. Summary: I started at the Camp PMI parking lot and walked over the wooden bridge toward Viewing Rock, and then headed further on to Jump Rock, and returned. The total distance on the GPS was 6.56 miles. The trail is a little rocky and steep in a few places, and as previously mentioned it was overgrown at the last half mile near Jump Rock. Otherwise the trail was clear and marked well. One note of caution, there is another trail leading south off of Jump Rock. Do not take that trail if heading back to Viewing Rock and the Boy Scout Camp, take the westbound trail. Since neither the westbound trail nor the southbound trail are marked at the top it can be confusing. I learned from experience and ended up adding 1.1 miles to my hike.

Hike was good. From lake up to viewing rock then on about 1 1/2 miles on up to Jump Rock. About 3/4 mile of the trail was overgrown. Path was visible but bushes were waist high on both sides. I walked with my hands up and the bushes rubbing my legs and hips for 20 minutes. Views were fantastic from both locations. Well worth the work.
