A short and easy hike that is well marked and maintained. There are two trails to the summit one is steeper than the other. You must climb the fire tower for a view, but it is worth the climb up the tower for the view.

Short hike, not too strenous for my 2 older dogs (one 9 and the other 12). Must climb fire tower at top to get any views.

beautiful trail and views at the end from the fire tower!! it is much steeper than I anticipated so if you're a beginner or prefer flatter trails, keep that in mind.

We did this after talking with some people who thought it was really difficult. Fortunately we would rate the climb up to the tower as moderate, just because it's almost straight up, and the walk down as easy. The trail is well marked (blue blazes) and well kept. The view from the fire tower is phenomenal. I have a certain amount of fear of heights but had no trouble going up the steps to the top. There are rails on both sides : ).

Very beautiful summit and view from the tower. only complaint is that it's too short a hike for how far it is from me! haha...

Got a little off track on the second half of the loop but got back quickly. BEAUTIFUL hike, the tower has amazing views. Not for the faint of heart but so worth the nerves. The state park is well kept and very peaceful. A little muddy in only a few places. The leaves are starting to change around this time. There is a $4 per person entrance fee but the fee allows you into all of Vermont’s state parks for the day if you’d like to hit more than one. Lots of tree roots and rocks so we took it slow. Overall, I would definitely come back!

Its a short hike but is steep which makes it little challenging. The fire tower has great views from the top which is worth hiking for.

We hiked the steeper route but it wasn’t hard more like an easy with a few moderate areas. Great views from the fire tower. Shorter hike but worth it!

I did the hike as a loop as I went counterclockwise. I went up the long and gradual route and came down the steeper route. The gradual way was longer going up but I met other hikers on this route. I had the summit to myself and the views from the tower were nice.

Excellent trail, definately easy to moderate at the last leg up from the juntion. Lots of bugs at the top, but that's to be expected during May!

The uphill hike to the tower was difficult! DEFINITELY works your leg and glute muscles.

Quick but lovely stretch before heading back to NYC. My dog loved it! The view from the tower is great. I somehow turned my recording off right at the head of the main trail, but the AllTrails map is pretty on point.

Great, quick, fast and a little steep all the way up. Amazing views from the top of the tower. Was icy but manageable without any extra gear.

A good snow shoe trail. Steepish up. Gentle down if taken counterclockwise

Was looking for a hike for me and my dog as the family was skiing Mt. Snow. This is about a 20 minute drive from Mt. Snow and it has off road parking and allows dogs. Both big pluses. I would say it's a moderate hike in the winter as there is a mixture of snow/ice. Make sure to bring your spikes and/or hiking poles. It was a beautiful/peaceful hike. The trek up definitely raised my heart rate. There is a fire tower at the top and the folks up top said it had great views but unfortunately my dog wasn't up for the climb. Otherwise, the views were okay since the foliage was off the trees but nothing spectacular. The loop took about 1 1/2 hours.

Killer view from the top of the fire tower. We entered the trail behind Vermont Distillers Inc for a moderately inclined hike that could be completed by anyone in decent shape. The hike up probably took 35 minutes. Absolutely worth the trip.

Great trail. Easy to follow the trail and markings. The view from the fire tower is spectacular but it was very windy and cold the day we went. Would definitely do this again.

Trail was easy to locate. Paid $4 per person, and went with 2 dogs and 4 people. Trail was somewhat narrow but perfect to walk in a single file with the dogs. The trail was marked and made it easy to know which way you were going. If you have an 1.5 hours to spend, would highly recommend this trail.
