Plan to do this trail on a cool day or at least an overcast day. It is pretty much full sun exposure so bring lots of water. Some areas are rockier than others. We ran into two snakes, non-venomous.

beautiful flowers and rock formations! (only 1 deer carcass for the half distance we did)

The trail itself was lovely but it was scattered with dead deer carcasses. Probably from a mountain lion or coyote? I only went half a mile but saw over ten half-eaten deer. They weren’t that fresh, but still, too creepy for me. I turned around after looking ahead at countless carcasses. It would have been a great running trail otherwise though.

This was a nice little hike for casual hikers. It was about 1 hour (2.5 miles) one way. Great for a little afternoon challenge.

Went with a total of 8 people from Cache Hikers. 4 on snowshoes, 4 on foot spikes. Was a cloudy day, but temperatures stayed right around 32*F. The canyon wind was blowing pretty good at the end of the trail, so we backtracked a little ways before stopping for lunch. It’s a pretty easy-moderate snowshoeing trail, I’m sure it would be really easy in the summer. It follows the river the whole way. Over all great trail!
