As far as SETX trails this is pretty okay. It is well maintained trail. Hiking in cooler weather is nice but I would not for the life of me do this in the Summer. I could only imagine how horrible the horse/deer flies and mosquitos would be with the creek running thru. This trail isn't really worth going to the park for in my opinion. Once they finally open the other trails it will probably worth going to the park to enjoy multiple trails. Edit: half the park is closed due to tropical storm Harvey

Christmas Eve day hike on a sunny 75 degree evening. Wide, easy to follow trail with several wooden simple bridges, sand, mud, and dirt trail.

Lots of roots, but the mosquitos and horseflies made it really unenjoyable. I would not try this trail again unless in the winter.

overall it was a good trail, but it was a little bumpy and muddy. but it is nature, so I give it a pass. I love seeing all the trees and different species and hearing all of the birds along the trail.

One of the main trails was closed so we could not get up to the beach that we had been to the year before. There were also a lot more mosquitoes this year due to the increase in rainfall and the water was a lot higher. Not much wildlife but we did see a few rabbits and some interesting pretty blue/green beetles.

Hiked most of the trails at the park. Trails are well kept. The trail going to the swimming area of Village Creek actually had some descent hills. Will be going back with my bike also.

We walked this trail in the afternoon during the hot Texas summer. We enjoyed it, but will go back when it's a little cooler.
