Wide, well-marked, flat and easy loop trail around the arboretum area. Passes through numerous habitats including forest, prairie, savanna, and bayou. You have to pay to park unless you come on a Thursday, when parking is free. Very popular due to location, and highway noise from nearby I-610 is ever-present. Overall, a nice suburban hike.

Comprised of multiple trails of varying lengths, with many trails in heavily wooded, shaded areas. The half mile loop around a ravine (the Ravine trail, duh) was especially scenic and had some up and down hill slopes to it. There is traffic noise in places but I soon tuned it out as white noise. A nice hidden gem considering it is only a few miles from downtown. I logged four miles by hiking different trails, including the Ravine Loop twice.

Nice gravel trails. Fun for kids, lots of butterflies!

Easy trail. Mix of paved path, gravel and boardwalk. Many trails within the Park, all very well marked. You will see a variety of trees and shrubs, animals, birds and butterflies. Avoid the trails during mid-day to early evening in summer as it can be really hot and humid. Bring insect repellent.

155 acre park showcasing 4 indigenous ecosystems (prairie, savanna, woodland, wetland) thru 5 miles of trails. Colorful wildflowers on the prairies and cooling canopies on the creekside woodlands. Plenty of boardwalks, benches, and bridges. The Nature Center offers interactive activities. Two access points: from Memorial Dr. or I-610 to 4501 Woodway Dr, Houston, TX 77024.

Nice trail right in the middle of the city!

Beautiful gem! Nice getaway. The ravine trail is great and see the possibilities as the foliage grows in. Great trail hike if added to the outer trail.

Beautiful place. Busy but beautiful. The flowers are just lovely. A sensory garden that is precious. You gotta hang out here and just wonder around for a couple of hours.

The rebuilt Ravine Trail opened this morning and it is beautiful! It’s also a great little workout with some dips and climbs up and down through the ravine. Love it!

I have come to love this trail by my house. I haven’t been in years and recently rediscovered it. Under construction for the first few hikes but still a great outdoor experience. So many beautiful sightings along the trails. Turtles sunbathing, birds, wildflowers and best thing is I can take my furry best friend. I will continue to go and support the Arboretum as it’s nice and peaceful out there. Seems like we are not in the city...I love that.

Great easy trails within the city of Houston. While it is “easy”, many of the smaller, inner trails are covered in mulch which provides a fairly decent workout on the legs. One of my favorite places for some exercise in nature near my house.

Take a walk. Clear your mind. Trail improvements in final phases. Appreciate. The arboretum has given a beautiful nod to the integrity of nature in the city...

A beautiful place with clean restrooms. Easy walk but you will need bug spray during the warm months.

Great trail right in the heart of Houston. A good reminder that even though Houston isn’t the prime destination for hiking, there are a lot of great little gems right in our backyard. Easy hike and great one to bring a dog along with.

Portions of the arboretum are currently under construction, but many of the trails are accessible and make for a beautiful and easy walk/hike in nature.

I hiked around the trails with a hydration pack and some snacks and hiking essentials. They were beautiful! Full of life and nature! The trees provide shade even in 98 degree weather, it was cool. I even brought along a fan/mister and didn't event need to use it! In the shade it felt like 75-80 degrees. Around 4 pm- 7 pm, it was pretty much empty. It was super easy! Would def do again! They're still working on phase 2 of the woodway entrance but mostly all the trails open

in the houston arboretum, there are seperate trails (such as coyote trail) and the trees provide just enough cover where the sun filters through perfectly. this is also a great place to take some nature pictures. it is one of my favorite places in houston!!!
