Bucket list item that we just had to see for ourselves. It was a nice place to swim and cool down

Pretty trail with a nice creek alongside it and a couple neat spots to stop and take a picture. The pool is amazing. Pack a day bag/lunch/towels/ and foldout chairs if you have some that are easily portable. The “beach” part wasn’t comfortable but an amazing and relaxing experience for sure!

Beautiful! We loved the scenery and the pool was magnificent. Definitely go on the off season. It was not busy when we were there.

Beautiful!! One of the prettiest places we have been to hike. Fall color is still present. Slick rocks and roots, use caution. Port a potties available. No pets allowed. Hiking trail to Pedernales River is closed right now. Make reservations for weekends in advance. Cash ONLY for entry fee of $15.

Was a great place to come to as a kid and in college. We would bring a pineapple, trechas, and some beer when in college and then hike to the river on the opposite trail. Now, you have to make reservations online 6 months in advance so no more spontaneous weekend excursions. Sad what the enlarged Austin population has done to local treasures like this.

requires a reservation for weekends up to November.

This was a great hike in the scorching Texas heat. The trail is rocky and technical in areas. Downhill most of the way to the pool. The pool wasn’t the color I expected due to time of year and the pool no longer being treated. The hike out was a little more difficult due to heat and humidity I think it was 103° the day we hiked. Just remember that it is up hill on the way back out.

Amazing place. Glad they reservations or it would be overcrowded. The hike to the river is worth doing to see the river and take a swim to cool off. The pool was beautiful with the waterfall. Nice path that allows you to go behind the falls.

we had an amazing day there. There is river trail....and pool trail. Most of them go and chill at pool, its a very beautiful place. we are planning to book reservation for this again we were lucky the swimming opened just that saturday. Go early to get a spot and see the not disturbed water and fish if you want to see the clear water.

Beautiful. We went on a day in March where swimming was allowed. Too cold for us, but one man swam and we waded in to our knees. Make sure to reserve a spot ahead of time.

Hamilton Pool is other worldly. A short .25 mile trail in. Definitely a must see. you can swim there but must check ahead of time to see if its open for

You need a reservation to do this hike, you should definitely write in the discription. Drove an hour from Austin to find that out

We had no idea that pets were not allowed. It didn't say it anywhere. We google searched and used this app and found nothing about it. Drove 45 minutes out of our way just to have to turn around and not go to the pool. We will be going back without our pup but was very disappointed.

Short, easy hike with beautiful views of the river. We’re from Colorado and wanted to see some waterfalls, (we came in February), and were able to swim in both the river and the ‘pool’. One of the coolest experiences was swimming up to and sitting under the waterfall. Magical!

Really great little spot but a little expensive ($11 to reserve and $15 to park) and right now the river trail is closed. So very limited if you were in the mood for hiking a couple of miles

Finally made it here! We were so captivated by the pool views, we didn't get to do the mile hike. Next time!

My best friend and I came here during the week in the heat of the July summer. We were disappointed we were not able to swim, but the beauty of this place is worth exploring. The drive in from either Austin or Marble falls is peaceful with lots of scenery. The park attendants are friendly and informative. If you have any health risks, I wouldn’t recommend this hike for you. Also, bring extra water in the hotter months.

Go for the pool, but don’t skip the hike!

Great hike. Short but just enough for an easy Sunday morning hike. Beautiful place!!! The only real challenge is the BIG hill. Get here early, they reach capacity quick and will not let anyone else in. $$entry fee!

So beautiful!! We went the day after thanksgiving and didn’t have a reservation. We waited in a car line for 20 minutes and it was more than worth it! If I could imagine a place where mermaids live, it would be Hamilton pool. So thankful we got to visit!! The hike is super easy and pretty heavily trafficked. I think most people don’t bring water which is a must do when hiking.

been here 3x ...what amazing place to see. during summer time you have to call or visit the website to reserve as its get busy so to control number of people for safety and preservation of such beautiful place!! I went there in January and you can just go no reservation needed but if you want to swim summer time for sure!

super short and easy hike. kid friendly. I brought my 2 an 5 year old. They have picnic tables by the parking lot. and the waterfall is great. It was only trickling when we went today but I can imagine when after a great rainfall❤ it's absolutely beautiful.

The hike to the pool is very short and very easy! We went on a cool foggy / drizzly day which made it perfect since there were few people going in! Took the the time to look up, look around and just take in the beauty! Also hiked down to the river. Most of the trail is easy with a few challenges. The rain made some of the rocks a little slick but just enough to make it fun! Again if there are not a lot people very quiet and serene.
