I've been walking this particular trail for years and every time I finish my hike, I come out refreshed. The soothing calmness of this trail is a great change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Austin itself, and I couldn't recommend it enough. Besides, you'll run into nothing but nice people along the way. 6/5 stars.

Wonderful trail for anyone, including families! It's so beautiful right now since the temperature as dropped. The leaves are turning orange and some have fallen to the ground. The creek still has a bit of water in it in a few places around the trail. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already done so!

The difficulty of the trail for overweight people like myself was actually pretty good. Unfortunately, there were several Creek crossings that gave off a bad sewage smell that I could see become a big hassle during more rainy parts of the year. I would have given it 3.5 stars, but whole stars only and the "Okay. Decent Hike" of the 3 star is more accurate to my feelings.

First time on the trail and the app. great directions, distances are accurate per the signage. Nice fossils, good greenery, great trail markings, well maintained, quiet neighborhood. Stream crossings have good rocks and bridges

Super cool hike, mainly shaded through some forest. Can’t wait to come back in the winter or spring when the river is full. My dog and I did find a part of the creek with running water and he took a dip to cool off.

A nice little walk. Only took my dog and I about 45min to do the entire loop. It’s well marked and has a lot of little offshoots to explore. It’s easy to find your way back to the main trail, so no worries on getting lost. Wear close toe shoes for sure! There are a few places where you cross water but there are good stepping stones. Very shady and quiet. You do have to walk through a neighborhood to complete the loop but it’s short and a pleasant neighborhood.

I did this hike with my 6 & 8-yr-old daughters in late June and they loved it. There were quite a few mosquitoes even during the early afternoon. I’d bring bug spray next time. The biggest negative of this hike is the short bit on a residential street that connects the two halves. It’s not long, but it kills the feeling of hiking. Otherwise, the hike is rugged enough for the girls to feel like they’re “really” hiking, but not difficult. Lots of easy water crossings, which made it more fun for them and the dogs. Bottom line: The girls say it’s worth doing again.

A very clean, well-maintained well-marked trail in a fantastically beautiful setting. Street parking by the playscapes was easy. I will be back!

Kind of hard to navigate in the second half. Got lost but was pretty easily able to find my way back. Nice easy trail!

This is a nice easy trail. I did this with my Husband and 2 month old (wearable carrier). It can be a little bit tricky if you’re following the complete loop so I advise to have a good sturdy stick or hiking poles to steady yourself when crossing some of the multiple streams. Lots of beauty to be seen while on your walk/hike. I have seen joggers on the trail too so I guess it’s also suitable for that. Not suitable for bicycles!!! It’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already :)
