From the intersection of Mopac (Loop 1) and Highway 290, drive south on Mopac. Exit on the Davis Lane exit and continue straight. Turn right on Beckett Road. The park and trail should be on the second right.

I really enjoy riding my hard tail through this trail. What would make this trail have 5 stars would be the addition of more features here, like berms and north shore skinnies.

I really recommend this trail to anyone that’s new to trail running/walking. It’s completely paved and lots of tree coverage to block out the Texas sun. I went around 8am and only about 4 other people were out there running. I could see it getting more packed as I left around 9 though.

Great for Rollerblading if you’re into that! Bike riding is fun but watch for shifted concrete slabs. Some are risen from the land to the point to where you could bump one too hard! Other then that, a wonderful trail through the woods.

I live near this park so I walk my dogs here, take my grandson to the playground area, and even swim in the city pool during the summer. An added bonus are the trails that cut through the center of the park for a more secluded walk.

Great place! Friendly people along the way and very clean. Had a great time!

Flat n easy with two kids in a stroller. Not enough windmills, fireworks or trampolines to earn 5 stars.

Walked this trail for the first time in about 12 years. Well maintained, not crowded, but a good bit of people out. Friendly, easy, laid back after work trail.

We have been in the neighborhood for 22 years and love Dick Nichols Park. As it does, Austin's growth has placed development next to the park in the form of Medical Buildings and Elderly Care Centers or the like. Can't stop growth, but the development tore a big whole in the backside of the park. Once a totally natural trail with no visual hint of the roads, buildings and Mopac. Sadly to say, a large portion is now open to a view of Mopac, a retaining wall and a three story building going up. Again, we can't stop growth, however due to an "oversight" in the construction process, and significant treeline was leveled that could have shielded much of the new "nuisance". I would like to rally support to have the development, banks involved, companies going in, to be aware of this. End goal would be a mutual agreement that trees or at least shrubs and fast growing native bushes could be planted to help keep the park and the trail as natural as possible. Please forward this message to any concerned. Thank you.

For recovering, rehabbing, need an easy 1 mile loop, (I know it says it's 2 miles, I just finished it, gps has it 1.11 mile loop), it perfect...you have a good flat, can walk on the side if you don't care the concrete, you can get that wilderness walk feel without going out in the back country. Get your steps in. Plenty places to stop, stretch, rest along the way. Easy but challenging for anybody recovering from a surgery or back problems.

Extremely easy & very short (maybe 1 mile) paved trail. Not anything near what I would consider hiking level.

I liked this trail loads, it's very easy. Great for those who want a simple concrete path to walk/jog/bike/pet walk. Abundant parking right by the trail.
