Great trail! Mosquitoes were there but not to bad if you kept on moving! We had our two dogs with us who love the trails but found 6 or more ticks on one of the dogs. Be sure to check your pets if you take them with you!

Great Hike, only problem, lots of mosquitoes. Since it rained the day before, trail had water running down it. Some muddy spots.

The trail was beautiful and very well maintained. You can see woodpeckers and plenty of wildlife as well as some beautiful views of cypress knees in a swamp like environment. I would highly recommend.

The Cypress Slough portion of this trail gave me a reverent, cathedral feeling, not unlike Muir Woods. Highly recommend this hike.

Mosquitos and deer flies and a lot of mud. Be careful not to go anywhere from 2 weeks after a rain.

Was a very good trail that I ran and was recommended from the park employee at the park store. The trail at the time of fall/winter/ before spring, alot of brown and trees without leaves. I bet during spring and summer it's gorgeous! Was also able to get a National parks passport while at the park store and was taught how it is used. Pretty excited and ready to use it!

This is a gem in the forest. Very well marked, with maps at the trailhead. The cypress trees are impressive, especially when you reach the cypress grove. We saw only one other group. Restrooms at the trailhead are very clean.

It was a long loop for a beginner, but it's not a hard trail to walk. There were benches along the path and beautiful places by the creek and slough where you could sit, rest, and snack.

Beautiful, engaging trail. Very maintained and marked with informative signs about the various tree types. The cypress trees are gorgeous. A very wide and well-traveled path better suited for those looking for a family stroll rather than a strenuous hike.

Really nice, well marked trail. The mosquitos about ate us alive though! Would like to do it again in cooler weather. The bamboo gives this trail a kind of creepy feeling. Really liked it.

This is another easy trail to follow, nothing strenuous but very relaxing. There are several old bridges to enjoy and take pictures. This is good for families with kids or a quick get way for you to relax.

Beautiful, easy trail. Much of it wide and clear. Much of the Kirby Trail was closed off so we took points 22 to 15 to reach the Turkey Creek Trail to the Sandhill Loop. Still got a good distance in - we figured near 5 miles altogether. With bridges, a picnic table, plenty of clear, pretty spots to rest and enjoy the view - this could be our favorite of the Big Thicket. We'll see!
