Beautiful waterfalls and great camping areas. A little rocky at times and very narrow paths. Would go again!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this trail. Great waterfall views. Love the sound of the water as we hiked. We will definitely do again..

I have visited Bald River Falls multiple times. Did not know about the trail. I started from Hwy 165 at the base of the falls and hiked a few miles in. Stopped as was running out of daylight. I see the directions start from the other end. Is the 9+ miles one way? Sorry new to the app so excuse my ignorance. Does it require a river crossing as I read in one of the reviews? Loved this trail and can’t wait to go back.

Trail was beautiful along the river. Cascades were very powerful and beautiful. The trail is in good shape, but there are places where footing is a bit difficult, especially when the trail is wet. Best to wear good hiking boots and poles.

If you love the sound of a rushing creek and seeing a new waterfall or cascade at every bend, then this is the trail for you. There are a ton of primitive campsites (view my recording waypoints) and was completely deserted on a Friday night (maybe the sub-freezing temps had a part in that). There are some narrow sections of trail with steep dropoffs and the switchbacks after the Wilderness sign are the most technically challenging section in my opinion. There was really only one true water crossing but I think there would have been more had we not been so dry lately. Everything shallow though. I thought the trail was going to end with no views but there's a treat before you turn around! Loved, loved, loved this trail. I'll be back in the summer for some cold creek swimming

It’s awesome. Great views and picture opportunities. We went today and the chain rope actually snapped on some guy there. So do not rely on it. I just reported the broken chain to the ranger station. They said people aren’t supposed to lean on those. This is as you walk up from the parking lot at the Bald River Falls.

Great trail, hiked last Sunday and we were the only ones the entire way. A lot of up hill but not difficult. Beautiful scenery.

Hiked about 1.5 miles in from trailhead at the falls on 9/28. This section of the trail is in great shape.

Great trail, a favorite we always come back to. Trail was dry today. It gets a little gnarly in some spots but not too bad. It’s a great hike but probably not for a beginner or someone wanting an easy hike.

We started a little late to finish entire trail. However, it was a knockout as far as payoff. The scenes along the way seemed unending! Moderate would be accurate for the portion of the trail we were able to hike with only the first 1/4 mile being the most challenging. Could be marked a little better but common sense and patience helped navigate. We will return to finish this wonderful hike.

Nice trail with a few tricky spots to navigate. lots of spider webs as we were the 1st ones on the trail. it is 10 miles not 8.9 and very beautiful as you hike along bluffs with waterfalls all along the trail.

Absolutely amazing trail. We parked upstream which was quite a rough drive but well worth it. Hiked 4.4 miles to the falls and then set up camp at the nearest campsite with the large rock overhang. Then we hiked back to the car in the morning. Didn’t see another soul on the trail which made for a very spiritual & enjoyable trip.

Love this trail.! The rain has eroded the trail so some spots are narrow but great hike.

It was closer to 10 miles round trip. Fun and challenging. There were 2ish trees down on the trail but not impassable.

Wonderful hike along a wilderness river. Started at the north end by the falls. Trail is in great shape, especially considering wilderness designation. No blazes needed. Rocky/rooty in a few spots but overall an easy hike. Couple of rock hop creek crossings.Plenty of rapids, shoals & swimming holes. Lots of folks at the falls but solitude on the trail. Highly recommend.

Beautiful trail that follows the river. There’s plenty of campsites that are in great condition. I had my dog Wynette and we both really enjoyed the trail, river, and falls.

Great trail. The ap is a bit misleading, it can be done as through hike if you have two cars. This trail can be accessed from Bald River Road. Look for USFS trail #88. The trailhead is on the left approximately a mile after passing Holly Flats Recreation Area. You will be crossing wet run off streams so be aware when it’s rained the trail will be quite muddy. Overall an absolutely beautiful trail!
