Vereen Memorial Gardens has been a bit of a "Hidden Jewel" for 30 years. The park features numerous hiking trails and wooden boardwalks that extend across several beautiful salt marshes and small islands, with a nice gazebo that overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway.

One of the best areas around the Grand Strand to Onewheel. Lots of intertwining trails and very technical on a Onewheel.

Beautiful, peaceful, easy trail - a nice break from the hectic Myrtle Beach scene.

Super easy, quiet, serene and quick hike! The Oyster tree is my favorite part! Make a wish on an oyster shell and hang it on a limb! Lots of educational plaques along the well marked paths, several walk over bridges, access to the water, a pier or two, and a lovely gazebo. There is also a park with port-a-Johns and picnic areas!!

This used to be a really good local hike. Unfortunately there are now way too many dogs that are not leashed. On more then one occasion I have encountered snarling dogs that were wandering well ahead of their owners. On the plus side, it is surprisingly hilly for this area. There are actually several short trails in addition to the loop. Lots of shore birds and a nice view of the ICW. Occasional deer sightings. I’ve been able to get six miles in with minimal backtracking. I’d recommend it for anybody wanting to get some exercise, but watch out for unleashed dogs!

Beautiful trail with boardwalks over the marsh, and trail goes by a small pond. An easy walk as trails are well kept! Small historic graveyard. I highly recommend it!

This is an easy, well maintained trail. It was shaded and the path was narrow giving it an intimacy I liked! The trails were well marked and I loved how the blue and red trails meet at the water. It was fun walking with my family (age range 9-45). We saw skinks, butterflies, dragonflies, beautiful spiders, and fish in the pond. Bug spray is a good idea for the skeeters!

Nice hike, a good bit of flora blooming for this time of year...surprises (jack-in-the-pulpet although not in bloom.

Vereen Gardens is a wonderful place for a quiet walk in the woods and beside the Intracoastal Waterway. Don't miss the oyster tree of wishes!
