A natural bridge with rocky outcrops, a lakeshore campsite, beautiful stream crossing. This is a great quick getaway hike. The trail starts out easily and crosses the Poe creek over a natural granite bridge. The next section is uphill through a boulder field topping out and dropping into a steep valley. You climb out to the top of the ridge and generally ridge walk until the decent to Lake Keowee. There is an excellent campsite on the peninsula but you need to reserve it ahead of time at the ranger station. The way back is a lot of uphill and steep downhill coupled with a nice river crossing. The last leg is uphill and ends at the old church and the parking lot.

Great trail. My dog and I went out on Christmas Day and did this trail. It’s strenuous enough to get your heart rate up, but not too difficult. I stayed to the right at the forks, so there wasn’t much to see until I got around the midpoint, but the lake was a gorgeous sight. I definitely recommend and will go back.

What a beautiful trail! Gorgeous views all along the entire trail, especially looking down over the lake. Switch backs were a little steep at times but nothing overwhelming. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it is listed here as being a 4.3 mile loop, which it is, but it's misleading because you have about a mile to hike from the parking lot to the beginning of this trail. It was fine but should include that in the total mileage of the trail so people know what they're signing up for.

One of my favorite trails. The view of the lake is beautiful. Definitely a great view hike. I saw a ton of different mushrooms along the way all varying in color and size.

Parked where the park’s office is located, and trail is just side to the parking lot. Loved this trail. Clearly marked and well maintained. It is very accessible trail all the way through. There is a small waterfall within the first half of mile of the hike. Beautiful trail. Tons of Fall colors and the best part is the View of the Lake Keowee, it is absolutely incredible! Stopped at 2 lookout points and absolutely blown away. Spotted a white tailed deer!! Took me and my dog 2:45 mins to complete with both stops included. Stunning. Def recommend!

This trail has character! Lots of ups and downs, rocks and roots and it’s narrow. There is so much variety to enjoy along the way though. The creek crossings are picturesque and the lake views add to the reward. I would say this is an advanced moderate trail but so worth it. Take your time and soak in the beauty of this gem. Hiked in 4 hours. Don’t make the mistake of turning right onto the Palmetto Trail where the Raven Rock Trail continues straight.

Really nice moderate, short hike. Great lake views with a few interesting water crossings and decent elevation changes. If you plan on camping, tent site 3 is definitely the best

I loved this trail. It’s located in Keowee Toxaway State Park. Beautiful granite ledges, creeks, waterfalls and gorgeous overlooks at the lake. Campsite area at the point makes for a perfect lunch spot half way thru the trail. Just enough uphill to provide a bit of a challenge.

My pup and I got up early to do another trail that was closed and ran across this one. It was perfect for what we needed. A few hours of a clear, clean path. Saw a few other hikers and got to view the camp sites that I’m sure we will be at soon. No downed trees that hadn’t been cut, some rocky access to the lake should you want. Good views and tree cover.

Nice trail. Lots of ups and downs but not too hard. Not too much to see but if still decent lake views in the middle part.

Trail was tough. There was plenty of shade most of the way. Leg fatigue did set in on the way back around the last mile. The trail did have a small breakoff where you could get down to the water and that made it worth it.

Loved this trail! Only did the small loop because I have two young children who wouldn’t have lasted through the big loop. This trail is kid friendly, dog friendly, has lots of little waterfalls throughout. Very quiet and scenic once you get deeper into the trail.

Loved it. The natural mountain Bridge part was harder for me because it was lots of roots and rocks. I will do it again. Nice elevation variation and turns and lots to see.

Enjoyed the trail! Definitely one I would hike again. Just be careful of snakes and bears. Went this morning and saw two snakes (luckily moved off the path quickly on their own) and a medium sized black bear cub halfway into the hike. Didn’t stick around long enough to see where the mom was!

Nice trail which was easy to follow. Paths were well kept. Only found two downed trees across the trail but otherwise is well maintained. View by the lake is really nice. Took about 2.5 hours for 5 of us and we took 3 or 4 drink breaks. Highly recommend.

Stay on the trail! You are entering an area crawling with black bear. Went into this area middle January for hog scouting and an eerie feeling like something was watching me got stronger and stronger. Please pack a .357 magnum or .44 magnum S&W. Talked to the forest manager during turkey season and he let me know there are a lot of bear in this area.

Wonderful hike for families especially if you are new to the area. Nice natural bridge with lots of rock climbing, great view of the lake at Raven Rock, nice areas to rest and cool off on the water on the hike back. Warning Julie back is mostly up hill and bring bug spray for warmer weather. Would do this again.

Very nice hike. Despite heavy rains the day before, the trail was in good condition. Nobody else hiking that day even though it was nice weather. Took me about 2 1/2 hours.

Hiked this loop this morning, it was great! There are a few small muddy patches, and most of the water crossings are mildly flooded, but nothing too difficult. Wildflowers are just starting to bloom!

This trail was awesome. It was very clearly marked the entire way and it had just enough hills to make it a little challenging without being too difficult. Beautiful views, too!!
