An alternative to hiking the strenuous Rainbow Falls trail, this in-and-out hike follows Jones Gap Trail and then the 0.1mi Jones Gap Falls Trail to a 50ft waterfall on a tributary to the Middle Saluda for a 2.6mi round trip.

Nice easy trail getting to a beautiful small water fall. You can go a little further and get to a second set of small water falls. A great way to spend a couple of hours. This is a good trail for even an older canine companion.

Nice trail- plenty of rocks to navigate along the trail, but well marked, nice falls. I’d rate it on the easy side of moderate- lots of places to enjoy views of the water as you follow it up to the falls on an autumn day. Looks like there are plenty of spots to get in and cool off in summer.

Easy hike to Jones Gap Falls. Did this one when I came down from Rainbow Falls for a 6.5 mile hike.

Lots of small rocks, like walking through a dry creek bed. Nice hike though and you can get right to the waterfall and sit on rocks Mot a lot of water flow but still nice

We enjoyed this trail. It was a bit rocky, but pretty easy.

Really pretty trail that runs mostly along the river to the falls. Overall it is an easy hike.

Nice walk in the woods along the Middle Saluda River with great sound of the fiver over rocks. Some vertical rise but not too strenuous.

Pretty good trail, went about a mile past the falls and turned around, nice river views but not a great hike

This trail was definitely rocky on the way up but worth the scramble for the waterfall at the end. The hike was not crowded even on a Saturday morning. Well marked and well maintained.

i love this trail when i want to go somewhere pretty and hang out, and not get an intense workout that day. it's a fun hike. you have to watch your footing because of it being rocky. has a moderate incline. honestly coming down was harder than going up because of the rocks and having to make sure you know where to put your feet. make sure you have good ankle support. it's better for kids and the dogs will appreciate the work out but won't be worn out. jones gap falls, in my opinion is way better than rainbow falls. very pretty grannet rock with more cascades. you can get in it as well.

Technical trail with slight ascent. Good to combine with a trek over to Rainbow Fallls

According to info at park this is a 2.2 mile hike and is rated easy which I would agree with. 65 foot cascading water fall and easiest waterfall hike in the park.
