The trail to Beech Bottom Falls (formerly Pinnacle Falls) has been rerouted to the south side of Abner Creek. The new trail leads to a viewing platform some distance from the falls; the view will be partially obscured in the summer, best to hike in winter before the trees leaf out.

A little gem of a hike! A bridge, a waterfall, a platform, wide portions, narrow parts, nicely maintained small step sections throughout all in less than 2 miles. People who do this hike should be steady on their feet or use a hiking stick if they have any reservations about hiking a few parts of narrow trail on a ridge line. There are posts and ropes but they won’t prevent a tumble. Highly recommend!

Really nice trail, short and easy. One section is washed out but you can still get across. Great view of the falls. Loved the bridges over the streams. Thinking it would be a great hike in spring when the rhododendrons bloom.

Went on the new trail to the outlook. The first bit is all oversized gravel, which was difficult not to turn an ankle on. Cool looking bat roost, a couple beautiful bridges over small streams. The outlook is well built and has a lovely view, but is not terribly big. Easy trail, took my friend and I about 40 minutes each way going very slowly (new to hiking.)

We can debate “easy” to a point on this one. Yes, this hike starts on a gravel access road and there are several lovely bridges. Dear me, though ... what goes up must come back down and my knees took the blunt of the blows. Friendly hikers on the way made it fun as well.

Nice trail, well kept, good signage. Be aware that this trail does NOT take you to the falls It takes you to a platform to view the falls. Some water along the way for dogs but no real access to the stream along the way Average skill required. the last 100 yards or so is straight down So, do note that the first 100 yards back after viewing the falls is straight up. After that it's an enjoyable walk. FYI: we did see bear scat on the trail.

Beech Bottom Falls The old discontinued trail leads to the bottom of the falls new trail goes to a platform that is very far away views not so well the old trail is almost reclaimed by nature in a another year it'll be non-existent. if you would like to try the old trail you can find other maps in the reviews below use caution

Easy trail to just get out and walk. Nice platform with view of Falls at end. Get your heart rate up a little coming back out. It isn't a true hike so just enjoy the trail.

Our first real family hike with our two young boys. One downed tree we had to duck under. Great view at the end from the platform! We just started walking not knowing what was at the end of this. Our spontaneity payed off!

Excellent for casual walk in the woods, good for all levels. “Hard” side of easy for non hikers.

Plenty of wildflowers and mushrooms. Great view of falls from viewing platform - we went in July. Worked Up a good sweat on a hot humid day.

Great trail.Beautiful view of falls on new trail.New trail is well cut and scenic in itself.I'm a 60 yr old and this trail was just strenuous enough without being overly so.It was a joy to hike this trail.

Great Falls! There are 2 trails for this falls: Old vs New. The new trail will take you to a wood platform with a distant overlook. Its a pretty easy hike. The old trail will take you down to the falls base. It is a "at your own risk" hike. Its a bit overgrown and looked like maintenance has stopped recently, but the view is unreal. Not sure why they switched the trail Here is a quick video showing both trails: https://youtu.be/1UFaS5Qq54g
