Make sure if you’re coming back down the alternate trail (not AT) that you use GPS. The trail isn’t marked and it’s super easy to get lost. Otherwise, awesome hike and gorgeous views!!

Love pole steeple - great views and rocks. However the whole walk was only 3.4 miles. Expected much longer.

I couldn't find the deer trail (as noted by another reviewer) - anything that wasn't white or blue blazed (AT and Pole Steeple trails) I just gave up on. I hiked AT to Pole Steeple then took pole Steeple back down to parking lot after vista. followed the road back to Fuller Lake for a bit before I connected with the well blazed and quiet trail, Mountain Creek trail that was off to the right (cross bridge on your right, trailhead is on the left). That brings you back out to the road, which then hooks back up with AT. Was a great loop. Will def go back.

It is very difficult to find the rest of the loop that isn't pole steeple or the appalachian trail, we found the trail, but it's basically a deer trail at the top. The trail is more clearly defined at the bottom where you come out at the end, so it might actually be easier to start the loop there instead. Other than that it's a lovely hike with absolutely gorgeous views of Pine Grove Furnace State Park.

I would have given this a 5 because I really enjoyed this hike. But unfortunately couldn’t figure out how to make it a loop. The second part of loop was not on a trail and we were walking blindly through the forrest (app said we were on the trail though).. we ended up cutting back over to same path we came up on for safety. Didn’t want one of the pups to step on leaves with snake under it.

Nice hike up to view at Steeple Pole. There are no blazes provided on blue part of trail, but is mostly easy enough to find the trail on the way up (though can be hard to find in some spots in the winter with all the leaves down). Recommend starting on blue trail and returning down AT which is a pretty gradual descent back down.
