Old growth forrest trail top of a hill overlooking the valley. The first 1.3 miles of the trail is on a flat gravel path or road, the second half of the hike is in the old growth forest following a well maintained single wide trail along several switch-backs to the top of the hill. This is the harder part of the hike, as the elevation rises sharply as you get to the top. As you enter the trail at the end of the road, stay to your left. You'll know you are on the right trail if you cross the Mulkey Creek trail bridge as you start your hike up the trail. You have several spots to rest and see the view of the valley as there are at least two bench rest areas along the way. At the top, the trail seems to keep going, but in reality loops back to the trail for you hike down.

This is always a sweet hike, rain or shine. I appreciate the seasonal shift of the trees, and difference in scent as you pass from the farmland to the creek to the forest. A local fave.

Nice trail for a January hike. Only one mud hole to skirt around. I saw a large flock of turkeys and other wild birds. Mild showers for most of the hike. Clean trail made the hike very enjoyable.

WARNING! Car broken into...both back windows smashed and (major) items stolen. Parked at the trail head on Sunday 9/1 at approx 6pm. Returned to car 90 minutes later. Someone had already called the local sheriff who was on the scene when we arrived. Unfortunately, the odds of finding the (explicit) sicko who did it and recovering any of our belongings are slim to none. This happens MUCH too often. Second time for us. Wish there was something that could be done, separate from bringing several hungry pit bulls to sit in the car. Ugh so frustrating..... Relatively easy hike with small amount of elevation gain which is nicely spread out.

A very convenient hike, the first part is on a gravel path through bypassing farmland, the second mile crosses Mulkey Creek to an oak savanna with songbirds and turkey vultures. An option at the loop is to continue for another 1.5 miles to Fittin Green.

Very well maintained trails, pretty views towards the top, fairly easy walk. it took us about an hour and 15 minutes counting a stop to take in some views and enjoy the sun. It's a great place for a fairly short walk close to town

A nice hike that offers some elevation gain, views and a good trail. I really enjoy this hike when I'm strapped for time. Great in and out. Parking at the trail head can be non-existent at certain times.

Great park. Good leg stretcher close to Corvallis. Mid June. Lots of bugs but not biters. Birds using nesting boxes. Good view of the valley. Would have to hit every trail to do 2.5 hours. We walked up and back in an hour or so.
