A decent trail with no destination, view, or point of interest. The scenery is generally lovely, though at points you’re still able to hear traffic. The Banks-Vernonia section is short, but you have to keep your head up so you don’t get run over by bikers flying down the trail. The eastern side of the Bumping Knots loops passes by a stream and some fields and was the only real change of scenery. It was quite muddy when we went and may be best in the summer, though I would imagine that there would be spiders galore given the number of webs we ran into in the dead of winter. Overall a solid hike, but the distance of the start of the loop from the Visitor Center and the need to backtrack the way you came for most of the hike makes it feel more like an out-and-back with no real purpose.
