Very cold this time of year, but no rain! Was pretty muddy in some spots. I didn’t see anyone the whole time. It was very peaceful. I showed up at 7am when the park was open to avoid the crowds. When I left there was a lot of cars in the lot.

Fantastic loop run. Didn’t see or hear a soul for this entire jaunt through the dense, mixed old and new growth forest. Ran it counter-clockwise; highly recommended. Big, but navigable, muddy sections at around 7.10. All told, just spectacular!

This was a wonderful shaded, well marked trail. It was wide enough in most areas for my trail buddy and I to run side by side. It's a shared horse trail but we had no issue dodging piles. There was no major view point but a beautiful forest. Portapotties at the trail head. We did encounter one major mud hole at mile 7 traveling clockwise.

Awesome awesome awesome. Muddy, rocks, some steep sections, but not impossible. Trees trees trees. No views for mountains or hills but lots of variety of trees. On a July the weather was perfect; sunny but cool and lots of shade. Horses and a few dogs but we saw 7 people tops on a Friday. 8 miles and worth every inch...

Beautiful hike worth the distance. Gradual climb. Also used as a horse trail the horse manure is not a welcome addition nor is the smell, however I will do this hike again. A beautiful forest setting that changes from west to east. Keep a look out for horse parties and vocalize if you can hear them but not see them. I spooked a few horses coming around a bend on a narrow section of trail. Good for kids and dogs. Tiger lily in bloom.

Early spring and there was still many patches of snow. The trail is well maintained but there are places that are overgrown from the winter. There are also a number of trees across the trail in various stages of being taken care of. Overall the trail was in great condition and I would definitely do this trail again. During my hike we only saw one other pit of people on horseback in the first mile. We had the forest to ourselves for the rest of the hike.

This hike is a gorgeous forest loop that offers varying scenery. It’s overshadowed by the Trail of Ten Falls, which is great because there’s a lot less people on it. It is horse accessible, and there’s plenty of horse poop to prove it, but it wasn’t a big deal for us. The uphill portions of this hike are painful, but then it’s downhill the whole way back. Now, if you’re a lover of mud like I am, enjoy the crap out of this. If you’re delicate and don’t like to get dirty, find something else to do besides this trail. It’s also very well marked, so getting lost would be difficult. We didn’t see any critters on the trail, but a sign at the trailhead said that bears and cougars have been spotted there before. Based on the density of the forest, I’m pretty sure they were there watching us amble through. Creek crossings were fine because of lovely bridges, and there’s plenty of water on the trail for dogs.

I mountain biked this trail. First, it is very pretty with large old growth trees. Second, it's very easy to get to and there is a lot of parking in the state park, third, not a lot of people use this trail. This trail was primarily designed for horseback riding. The trail head is near the horse camp and there is a lot of horse manure along the trail. Mountain bikers beware, the first four miles of this loop are uphill. This isn't a steep trail, but it grinds on uphill for a long time. Take caution on a bike coming back on the downhill side as horse riders use the loop going both ways, and horses hate bikes.

Muddy, and you have to pay the fee to use it. It's also hard to find, but it's still a good walk!

Very easy. Did this in mid December where it was wet and muddy. Still doable even after some snow fall but had to turn back halfway due to a flooded river with excess mud. Kind of flat, same scenery for miles.

Did the Buck Mountain Loop and added the Perimeter Trail down to the North Falls for about a 20 mile trip. Very relaxed feel in the woods with the mist from a stream. A little muddy and rocky but worth it.

I have biked this trail a few times. I hiked it with my dog last week and up hear the top, the rain turned to snow and we got snowed on for about 2 miles.

Actually took "Buck Mountain Loop" - this was my first longer venture out with my dog (since the main falls trails don't allow dogs) and it was nice. Lots of horses on this trail during the weekend.
