This is a multi-day loop that starts at the Boulder Lake Trailhead and covers portions of both the Old Freemont, now the Continental Divide Trail, and Highline Trail. It included many lakes and 10,900 ft Hat Pass.

The drive in is very narrow by the cliff side. Its a bit scary if two cars had to yield to each other. It was quiet and beautiful. A lot of Wild life and wild animals that we passed. Definitely worth the trenching drive. The vehicle we drove had 4 wheel drive and perfect for going through deep pot holes.

The trail was very well maintained and had some amazing views. The lakes are super cool and the huge rock fields are very fun to climb around on. Definitely come here and check this place out!

This is a great place for getting kids into backpacking. The hike in is short but the hill made it challenging for my 6 year old. The walk around the lake gives some diverse trail conditions... a forest trail, some dense vegetation and a small boulder field. The kids loved it. no facilities at the sites (non youd want to use at least), and the road up was fine. I had a 4x4 truck but never used the 4 wheel drive.

Such a beautiful lake! Deserted on the Summer Solstice, clear water, bright white fluffy clouds. We were happy to discover the road that goes to within half a mile, thought we’d never get there because previously we had accessed the lake from Bonney Meadows above. The road to Bonney Meadows is now only 4-wheel drive accessible. Anyway, we hiked up to the Meadows. We saw an osprey at the lake diving for fish. All in all a perfect day and lovely lake.

Easy short stroll from trailhead to boulder lake. Some car campers at little boulder lake because a forest service road reaches there, but only hike-in at the main boulder lake. Fishing at boulder lake was really good. Biting spinners for me. Mostly the invasive, but beautiful, brook trout. A fairly steep hike from the lake up to bonney meadows is worth it. Beautiful views of Mt Hood over a natural meadow full of wildflowers. A decent amount of snow patches on the ground as of late may, but still pretty easy to spot the trail.

Beautiful area. Primitive but nice campsites on the lake. A nice hike to Echo Point (I'll try to upload) with views of Boulder Lake and Mt Hood. Quite crowded camping on the weekend. Next time we'll go on the weekdays.

There are 8 to 10 campsites at this lake. The half mile hike in keeps most car campers away. All campsites are on the lake. Beautiful lake, clear water.

This is a great little hike especially if you continue on to Bonney Meadows (if you happen to be in the area). There are some nice campsites at Boulder Lake

Great for camping and fishing, poor for hiking. Hidden gem campsite at the top of the bluff, about three or four miles from the lower campsites, absolutely stunning fields and streams above the cliffs.
