Beautiful woodland walk and awesome 200+ foot waterfall. This is the quickest and easiest way to access South Harper Creek Falls. The trail will begin across from the small parking area on the right. Look for the orange blazes. Walk along the mostly level to descending trail for approximately 1.1 miles to Harper Creek. Stay to the left at any trail junctions you encounter along this part of the trail. Once at the creek, cross and look for the natural stone stairs leading away from the creek. If you look upstream you will see a small unnamed falls. At this point you wil no longer follow the orange blazes. The trail will follow switchbacks up the mountain. It might be hard to find in areas, but follow what looks like the most heavily traveled route. When you get to the top of the ridge look for a heavily rutted and used trail going from left to right. Always stay left and you will come to an overlook with awesome views of the falls. WATERFALLS ARE DANGEROUS! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM WET AND SLIPPERY ROCKS.

Such an extreme waterfall, and the adrenaline rush of standing next to it is monumental. Please, be careful. One could easily get hurt seriously out here. It's a very remote drive and hike. You'll likely be alone. To get to the view of the waterfall you will have to cross the creek. The hike is pretty easy, up until you reach the waterfall, then it's very steep trek to the bottom. Very beautiful and very worth it.

This trail gets 4 stars only because of the last little bit of the trail and the waterfall. Getting there was annoying because it is very overgrown. I dont mind just a walk in the woods when the path is clear. I dont mind going over and around stuff but I am not fond of having to bushwhack. All in all I enjoyed the hike tho. The falls were beautiful from the top and the bottom. No one else around. Dont wash your car before coming. There is about 10 miles of gravel forest road. (but the road is good) :)

A pleasant hike and by a quick way to get to South Harper Creek Falls. Use insect repellent! The trail is rather narrow and/or overgrown in sections, so it's especially easy to get ticks. I found seven on me today.

The falls were stunning. Trail to the second fall was really washed out but manageable.

I was there during time of high water and the view of the waterfall from the overlook was stunning. It's an easy walk along the Harper Creek Trail for a little over a mile from the FR 58 (Kawana Road) trailhead to the creek crossing. Once at the creek, you can cross (to go to the overlook) or head downstream on the Harper Creek Trail to explore some views along the mid-section of the Falls. Another small but pretty waterfall is clearly visible upstream from the crossing, but that area is marked by multiple "private property" signs. After the creek crossing, it is a short uphill climb for about 0.3 miles before side trails to the left lead to the beautiful overlook.

Harper Creek is an easy trail but not marked well. I was told by a few locals to be very careful of the private property and never hike alone, having done so the first time and I am still alive to write about it! The falls is spectacular and one of the prettiest in the area. The overlook is worth a gander.
