Nice, relatively flat hike along stream bed, Numerous clearings. From the Pink Beds Parking lot, take the trail east. The start of the trail is clearly marked and the route is easy to follow by the orange markings on trees along the way. The trail criss-crosses the stream frequently on well maintained foot bridges. The trek is relatively flat and numerous clearings are encountered for wildlife viewing.

Muddy but fun. Good simple hiking.

Some ice in spots and a couple of trees down but neither were a problem. A side trip on the Barnett Branch Trail were well worth the added elevation and gave us winter views of Pisgah Inn and Pisgah Tower.

See pic I posted on where the tree is down and impassable.

Very nice hike, after all the climbing to see waterfalls and mountain vistas this hike is a nice breath of fresh air. Walked in late fall and as many have noted it is a wet and sometimes muddy trail. Good shoes are a must as it is filled with tree roots. Very few ascents and descents but enough to know your getting a little workout.

Easy trail through low land swampy area. Very different than most other trails in Pisgah. Good for someone not interested in lots of vertical. The path is quite worn and "rooty" is some areas.

Crisp morning for a hike! It was great! Well maintained except for the mud. But that was to be expected after the rains earlier this week. A great trail for me to get back into hiking after a long hot summer.

Easy 6 mile hike. It was sprinkling on and off today so the grounds were wet and there were lots of puddles. But even so, the trails are very well maintained and it was beautiful with the change of leaves. We finished it in 2 1/2 hours with a moderate pace.

Pink Beds Loop is a Nice well maintained trail, quiet and flat. Dogs loved swimming in the river. However I did encounter a swarm of yellow jackets or bees of some sort and got stung a lot! Watch out!

I don’t think this trail should be marked EASY. I am an experienced hiker and even though the trail doesn’t have a lot of elevation gain it has a lot of exposed roots for the vast majority of the hike and is 6 miles. If you are an advanced age hiker just be aware. It’s more like EASY PLUS. It is really pretty especially the wetland boardwalk portions. You should start by going straight past the first sign for the loop that way the boardwalk sections are first and the route will be less rooted toward the end. 2 large yellow jacket nests In the ground. Listen for them. I hiked it in 2 1/2 hours.

Did this one and enjoyed it a lot! It was pretty muddy but if you have the right shoes, it’s no problem. Beautiful flowers and plants, and pretty running creeks along the trail.

Watch Out for snakes. My daughter was a head of us and was almost struck by a rattlesnake while on the trail. we also crossed paths with a 4-5 ft rat snake

Excellent trail for an easy half day hike. Yes there are some muddy parts on the trail, but for me not a distraction from the Awesomeness of the scenery.

Great easy trail, for families with kids and dogs. Only did 2 miles in and then back out with my son and dog as we got a late start, but will go back soon to finish the loop. lots to see, plenty of places to splash around. It rained on us so Mosquitoes were a bit of a pest and trail was muddy, but nothing a hiking stick can't help with. Keep an extra pair of shoes and change of clothes in your car.

Flat, green and lush. A nice little walk through the woods. Definitely muddy and sloppy in quite a few places after the recent storms. Bring a pair of shoes to change into for the ride home! I recorded my hike and followed the map and AllTrails said it was 5.3 miles so a little less than the 6 miles listed.

“Difficult” trail that could actually be run, for the most part. Some trails rated difficult in this app are super difficult and can only be hiked. This one allows a good amount of running and several stream crossings if u bring water purification methods. However, the saved start point is wrong so once u get into Pisgah u want to park in the black mountain parking lot by the visitor/ranger center.
