If you're looking for a quick trail to get in a good run or just an evening hike this is perfect. I took my dog for an evening walk and it ended up being really a great workout for my calves from the steeper inclines. It was very well kept, not overgrown at all, and there were recent tire tracks. We really enjoyed it and there's not much to see but it is a peaceful getaway that still gets your heart rate up.

Parked at Woodlawn park. Trail head is across the street from the park on 221. Trail starts on paved road with a gate. I did see a black bear about 5 miles into run by the river. The bear came up from the river on to trail. Decided to call it at that point and turn around Trail is gravel/dirt road and overall is quite overgrown. Grass is very tall most of way making it difficult to see where placing feet and to see potential snakes.

Parking is great and easy to get too off of 221. The trail is primarily a road. If you don't want a mile warm up do not take the trail on your right that states, "foot traffic welcome", it dumps you back at the helipad. Area had recently been mowed so no issues with overgrowth, no deadfall to speak of. Very exposed to the sun during mid day with it being a road. Found a forest trail and did go down it until it came to a dead end. Only completed 5.5 total of this trail. It was very hot and we started the trail in the mid afternoon at 88 degrees and ended at 93 degrees. Will head back up during the winter as this looks like a great place to snow shoe since there are no washouts or rock scrambles. Overall rating is a four, only because there isn't much to see.
