Such an interesting trail in so many ways. Starts in a cattle pen then over a mesa and drops into a wash area. The wash is braided ... so leave some markers as you go so you can find your way back out. Parallels a huge cliff (look for the bird poop under the nesting crevices). Then the challenge begins as you climb into the ca yon and scramble up rock formations to make your way up. The geology is fascinating. Jasper, citrine crystals, quartz crystals, agate. We went up the right leg at the end to a towering wall of water stained rock. You'll see the petroglyphs as you come down through the middle section of the canyon. They face up-canyon.

great hike. lost the trail a few times, not marked at all, but found lots of cool things to check out on the area. proposed to my now fiance at the Crest of the two farthest trails marked on the map. She said yes...of course.

Have hiked this trail 3 times. Nice climb up the canyon with some very nice petroglyphs and an interesting mine.
