Perfect day for a hike. The trail was in perfect condition. Autumn colors were gorgeous. 5 deer bounded across the clearing. We even saw a tiny "horny toad" at the top of the mountain.

Pretty trail! At least, the portion of it that I did. I missed the first turn on the trail and followed a footpath to a lovely meadow. However, the footpath disappeared & when I consulted the app, I saw that I needed to backtrack to a turn I missed. I was only going to hike the trail to the junction of the connector to the 2nd connector to the 10K trail. Found that one, which is not marked & is a faint footpath and started down it to loop back to the parking area. Got about 1/2 way down to the 10K and ran out of trail. The ground was very overgrown & had lots of downed trees. I hope to do this trail in its entirety on a day where I'm feeling a bit more energetic. Today, the King of the Mountain remains king & unvanquished!
