Very well constructed and maintained trail loop, with many different water features and benches to observe the main water body, Haledon Reservoir.

Very easy, peaceful and beautiful

An easy trail, great shade and tree cover for the bulk of it. There is also kayak / canoe rentals in the summer daily.

Very quaint, easy trail and well taken care of. The floating bridges are beautiful. I would have given it 5 stars, but the constant noise from the road ruined the experience.

Well maintained blue trail. Very short and flat walk (not hike). Pretty water and marsh views. Great place to launch a Canoe or kayak! Wear sunscreen on the water.

Did this trail with my three daughters ranging from 4-9. It was easy for them to do and they enjoyed it quite a bit. Trail is very well marked and well maintained. We went on the island bridges path which is a series of islands connected by floating bridges. It had a lot of scenic areas and lookouts onto the reservoir. At one point there was a nice bench to sit and take it all in. The west side of the trail runs along a busy street so we chose to just turn around and walk the way we came. You can also rent 2 and 3 person canoes and kayaks.

As a dog owner, this trail is best described as a good place to go for a change of scenery from your everyday “long walk”. Looks like it would be a good place for a family to take kids “hiking” as well. But overall, just a big loop around a reservoir where only about 1/4 of the trail is more nature like while the rest is a path on the other side of the fence from civilization. Lots and lots of tree roots and muddy spots so watch your stepping!
