Beautiful trail! For a local mountain the wooded area makes you feel like you are hiking through the beginning of a 4K. Even with all the melting snow that trail was easy to hike through (if you have waterproof boots). Lots of larger rock and roots for good footing. Beginning of trail is flooded and then very eroded. Made a nice little river. Great quick work out with quaint view of the local area right at the beginning. Marked with red blazers. Parking lot is a large area off a busy road. Kiosk .1 mile in. Foot traffic only.

This is an ok trail. The views at the top are of trees. About .2 miles from the “summit” has the better views. A little difficult walking as the leaves have covered the rocks on the trail so be careful you don’t twist an ankle!! Great exercise and we even saw a porcupine!! Probably won’t do this hike again. My husband spoiled me with views from the summit of Mount Liberty that we hiked last weekend. This hike doesn’t even come close. All in all a good workout if your not looking for views!

Trail was pretty clear but without clear markers, found it really easy to get on another trail which could make it hard for someone to get off the trail. Had some great Vista views if you are willing to cut through some brush.

First time, great dog-friendly loop. Rough and rocky bit of elevation gain right at the get go, but otherwise, pretty steady. There is a gorgeous overlook to the left of the trail in this section - which is the best scenic view you’ll get. Accidentally went off trail on the way up - some of the blazes are faded - but found a HUGE blueberry patch. Lots of bees/wasps/things with stingers hanging out at the false summit, near the fire pit with the wind break wall. Our dog had an absolute ball here - we’ll be coming back!

The online reviews were mixed but we absolutely loved this! Quite steep for the first 1/3 mile then very moderate and lovely. Our group was my 5 year old, almost 3 year old, 70 year old mom and my pregnant self and we all did fine took about 3 hours to go to the summit and back on Spencer Smith. Don’t miss the lovely views along the way as there isn’t one at the top but still a simply lovely hike. (Wouldn’t recommend this when it’s icy or very muddy due to the steep portion.)

On road for a bit with this trail but still a great mini hike

Fantastic trail, went on a rainy day and had no trouble with the mud! Spotted tons of little salamanders, and got some great views. Highly recommend going a bit farther past the end of the official route marked on this. You get a view of the lake.
