This is a fun loop hike deep in the White Mountains to two wooded summits but with ledges and various viewpoints along the route the hike is well worth it. The trailhead is beautiful and the trails are pretty well maintained. Climb Whiteface through the Blueberry Ledges Trail (you can take the Blue Berry Ledges Cutoff as well, it merges into the Blueberry Ledges anyway). Up until the last half mile you will be immersed in deep forest. Beautiful brooks and small falls next to the trail. Not too many ledges or blueberries until you get close to Mt. Whiteface. The last half a mile climbing Mt. Whiteface is rather steep but short. You will be rewarded by beautiful views to the west. Continue northeast into the Rollins Trail which will hit the intersection with the Dicey's Mill Trail. If you take this trail north (left) you will hit Mt. Passaconway. Although that is the mountain top, you may want to walk a quarter of a mile north to the view point. Turn back through the Dicey's Mill Trail which lead you down to the trailhead where you started.

This was a gem on a blue bird day. Perfect amount of snow of about 5-6” and nice views on the ledges since the leaves are down. Really love the scramble up whiteface, especially with the ice!! Great day.

Hiked on October 27th. Awesome trail with amazing views but very challenging. The climbing/bouldering near the summit of whiteface was difficult and not for a casual hiker. Trail was wet and muddy. Overall great and tough hike. Took about 8 hours.

Hiked this today, October 25th. Trail was quite wet near the top and made for some slippery footing in places. The scrambles at the top were a little harder than I expected based on the other reviews here. The way down from Passaconaway was really steep and wet as well. It was clear sailing once we hit Dicey’s and my tired legs appreciated the relatively flat walk out after the river crossing.

Good trail. Slightly more climbing/bouldering than anticipated, but still awesome views.

Hiked 10/12, went up Blueberry Ledge to Whiteface first. A few fun boulders in the last 0.5 miles. Traversed to Passaconway and then descended on Dicey’s Mill which ended on a Hikers Welcome private land. Nevertheless, it was one of the nicest way down with very few rocks. It was a misty day so we only had a few peeks at the foliage at the summits.

Hiked on 10/5. Took blueberry ledge trail up to Whiteface. Very challenging rock climbing at the ascent otherwise steady incline for the most part. Great views from the summit, Mt. Washington is seen at your left. Easy traverse over to Passaconaway which had some views. Muddy up top. Take the dickey trail down, super easy. Watch closely for trail markers as it was easy to make a wrong turn and go off course. Beautiful fall foliage! Parking is kinda limited so arrive before 9am. Parking is free. Total trip took a little over 7 hours with a short break for lunch.

Very nice loop with enough views and varied terrain to keep it interesting. Highly recommend the counter-clockwise route & taking the "View" spur at the top of Passaconaway if the weather is clear. The rocky bald areas near the peak of Whiteface provide outstanding views, as do several open areas along the Blueberry Ledge descent.

This hike really kicked our butts. Went counterclockwise up the Dicey trail. It's pretty straightforward but steep then it's a steep but quick ascent to Passaconaway. the hike across the ride to Whiteface was moderate with beautiful views. Whiteface was a much more rewarding view than Passaconaway. Scrambled down was steep but not to challenging. the mistake we made was going down the Coggins trail which is very steep and slippery. It killed us and didn't save us any time eventhough it's short distance it was very dangerous. I wouldn't do the whole hike again but it was worth it ti bag 2 in one hike.

What a great hike! Strenuous but rewarding. Great views on Whiteface; you can see all the way to the Belknap range across lake winnepesauke. On Passaconaway it is wooded but if you do the loop you get a great view of the Pemmigewasset wilderness. Took us about 8 hours.
